Pros

OpenComp offers the opportunity to work on a wide range of fun, exciting, and challenging things. Additionally, the colleagues I get to work with are top-notch, and some of the best people I've worked with in my career. The 100% remote culture also works well here.

Cons

Such is the nature of any fast-moving startup, sometimes things become a bit hectic. We always do a great job of staying on top of things though!

Pros

OpenComp offers a consistent stream of fun and interesting challenges to work on. With it being a startup, it's a fast-paced environment where you get to think on your feet, and I thrive in those types of settings. Additionally, the company has a great team culture, positive atmosphere, and everyone is very supportive of one another's successes.

Cons

Because it's a startup and things are always moving very quickly, sometimes you aren't able to spend as much time on something as you might like. That's not a commentary on OpenComp specifically, though, as it's really just the nature of any startup.

Excellent remote-first company, with talented experienced engineers

Pros

- The people are genuinely great - Work/life balance is a priority - Extremely talented team of engineers who strike a solid balance between getting things done, and getting things done right - High investment in healthy remote culture with weekly events and opportunities for crosstalk between departments to reduce siloing - The product being built serves a noble purpose - High level of ownership in work that is done - Strong leadership with expert knowledge in the domain

Cons

- Some of the typical startup stuff, not for everyone. It will be difficult to succeed without some level of self-starter attitude. - Product is being built as requirements are being discovered and often aren't well understood, which means iteration will happen frequently (not a con necessarily, but is the nature of the beast)
