I worked at Pella full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Respectful work environment, great benefits, good work/home balance

    Cons

The employee assistance program did not work for me

    Advice to Management

If you (HR) tell employees that the EAP is there to help but then fire an employee who needed personal help but had never messed up on the job and had multiple manager's support then you would still have the most productive worker in logistics still

I worked at Pella full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great Company to work for. The Pella product is one of the best on the market, They give the sales reps the products needed to be succesful.

    Cons

The only cons that I can think of is that there could have been more training programs to make the selling process easier,

    Advice to Management

Provide your employees with a little more training however it was a great work enviorment and the product sells itself

I worked at Pella full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    Your Paycheck will clear

    Cons

Upper management running sales who have only operations or finace backgrounds.

    Advice to Management

Stop shuffling the deck but playing with the same cards. Move all non manufacturing to a city where you can attract real talent and be prepared to pay for it.

I worked at Pella full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great people to work with. Very friendly atmosphere, zero tolerance for sexual harassment or racism. Decent benefits and a few perks.

    Cons

Ungodly amounts of drive time, extremely long hours tedious and boring half of the day doing your best will only leave you behind. Meetings for sake of meetings, just really techy for no apparent reason. Company phone, laptop, iPad and vehicle. This job will only work if you can handle massive overtime and ultra high stress. The training is very very poor.

    Advice to Management

Divide the Installation manager position into three jobs. An order verification specialist to verify the measurements of staff that cannot read a tape measure. A customer problem resolution specialist to manage the day to day operation of the installs, and their problems. Finally an account records analyst to manage the 8 primary computer programs Citrix, Pella Quote Management, PSI, Basecamp, Hatchify, P drive, MyPella.com and the combination of Dropbox, MDI calls, XL spreadsheets, Outlook, and the various other proprietary softwares you believe a person will learn without a manual.

    Pros

Well branded product and a company that has been around for almost 100 years
Highly skilled ethical sales team lead by a great manager

    Cons

    Poor management
    Poor quality installs
Attempts to be ethical, but a lack of knowledge, leadership and direction creates an environment of disunity and questionable ethics

    Advice to Management

Pella in Longwood could dominate the central FL market. Put in place leadership who knows the FL market, understands construction, and has a vision to be the best.

    Pros

    It pays a decent wage.
The windows and doors are above average.

    Cons

    Immature leadership
    High school, clique environment
    A troubling lack of diversity

    Advice to Management

Learn to communicate on all levels, properly train new employees, Senior leadership needs to hold all management accountable, realize that your customer service ratings suffer for a reason.
