    Pros

Great place to work. Fantastic benefits, great people in the company.

    Cons

I thought the product could be improved on quite a bit. Had some issues with rot that I think they did little to address or improve on.

    Advice to Management

Very well run company, you just need to focus on creating products that work in all areas of the country.

I have been working at Pella full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Have all the tools available to succeed. Great pay & all work done mostly in the field, no cubicles! Management team is very supportive & on going training.

    Cons

Experiencing a lot of growth in the division that I work in. That creates challenges with staffing needs and new processes to handle that growth.

    Advice to Management

Better on boarding training for support staff.

I worked at Pella full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Amazing product with thoughtful design and engineering. Most employees are hard working and willing to assist. Good complete window line offering. Good initial pay.

    Cons

Deceitful management. The PDSN's are not helpful with one's own business development in terms of administrative assistance and especially management in terms of working with reps to develop new business. PDSN was unwilling to entrust Reps with any established account. Only receive one week of hands on training in Pella, IA, which was great, but you are on your own after that. PDSN's don't share good or "Key" accounts with employees. PDSN was cryptic in terms of salary vs. draw. Pella Overly pushes Vinyl Window sales which are good but priced higher that competition. Pella Vinyl is limited in terms of window combinations and colors making a hard sale.

    Advice to Management

Spend more energy developing sales team, offer practical & situational sales coaching. Act as if you care about employee retention.

    Advice to Management

Be more invested in the people you lead and what they are doing for the company representation.

I have been working at Pella full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Strong name recognition and reputation for quality. Wide variety of products, including installation services. Technology is a huge priority and changing constantly to be cutting edge for this industry.

    Cons

National marketing is used for regional branches, with very little adaptability to local areas. Marketing has virtually no ability to try something new. Same lame marketing gimmicks every month, just alternated back and forth. Company is constantly hiring new reps, then giving them the best leads to get and then keep them going. New reps are often children of Pella management, which of course these kids are not going to be given low quality leads to allow them to fail. Not much loyalty to long term successful reps. No commission increases or gas mileage expense ever given in the past 7 years despite constant price increases each year. Impossible to sell larger projects without taking sizable commission cuts. Horrible service department, leading to many lost, pissed off and frustrated customers.

    Advice to Management

Stop spending money on class action lawsuits and overpaid "do nothing" middle managers, and spend more on product development. (Non wood products are poorly rated and horribly reviewed online, excluding the premium vinyl which costs more than a wood/clad window.) Staff service departments with more techs so customers are not waiting several weeks for service calls on minor issues. Take care of your senior sales reps or we will go work some where else.
