I worked at People Incorporated (MN) full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

The clients are great to work with and it feels good to be able to make a difference in their lives. If you are a new nurse do not start your career in home health unless that is where you want to stay very hard to get a hospital or clinic position if this is the only kind of experience you have as you do not do any skilled nursing activities. Good if you like to work independently. Flexible schedule.

    Cons

Medical Insurance is very expensive. There is a lot of paperwork/computer documentation. Very low pay. Short staffed quiet a bit. Not a lot of advancement opportunities. Pay raises are very small.

    Advice to Management

Make medical instance more affordable especially for those with children. Provide competitive salaries.

I have been working at People Incorporated (MN) full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Opportunities to learn about the field . Supportive colleagues.

    Cons

Incredibly high turnover, even for this field in non profit sector. Top-heavy management, unempathetic upper management and sometimes lower management. Ethics concerns regarding employee rights/respect and client care. Inequality in salary and job perks for similar positions. No loyalty to staff who have been employed for more than a few months. Abysmal health insurance rates. No respect for the time, obligations, or...

    Advice to Management

Treat your employees better. If people say they are overwhelmed, listen to them instead of ignoring it or displacing tasks onto other overwhelmed staff. Take the feedback, hire competent employees and offer competitive compensation. Re-assess and limit role responsibilities.

I have been working at People Incorporated (MN) full-time for more than a year

    Pros

The company shows it cares about people from it's name to it's mission and by the many programs they offer. Great ideas, and a great reputation. Lots of top talent working there - however happy or unhappy they are varies from person to person and department to department.

    Cons

Somehow too much of a good thing isn't a good thing. Many of the middle management is covering too many duties to be truly engaged in what they are managing. So many organizational changes that no one can keep up with the regular day-to-day maintenance of their jobs. Things seem to be changing so fast that many people are leaving and people aren't being brought in to replace them - the work just gets handed to the other...

    Advice to Management

Pick a main goal and get settled in it and mastered before trying to improve or take on changes in so many other programs.
