    Pros

the people are very friendly to work with. The organization is committed to helping the clients they serve. The trainings the company provides are great resources and help advance your skills.

    Cons

Many times the program managers are entry level to the position and can have difficulty guiding the staff.

    Advice to Management

be consistent, communicate more effectively, model more to staff, especially new staff, through active engagement with clients.

I worked at People Incorporated (MN) full-time

    Pros

Everyone is very friendly (except for this heinous administrative assistant in Homeless Services who everyone is terrified of because she is so mean) and the atmosphere is laid-back.

    Cons

Do not expect management to have your back if you make a mistake. Do not work here if you are not a self-starter or if you require lots of direction and feedback in your position.

I worked at People Incorporated (MN) full-time

    Pros

There are good benefits at People Incorporated, and the people are nice and personable.

    Cons

Low wages, unsafe facilities. The Senior Management is cutting as many corners as they can to make a buck. People Incorporated clinics work with many clients in treatment facilities who are coming down off hard drugs, with homeless clients, and with clients who are still dependent on hard drugs (methamphetamine, cocaine, barbiturates). The clinic facilities aren't designed for the type of clients we are seeing, and there aren't safety procedures for what to do if/when we have a volatile client. It is a problem waiting to happen.

    Advice to Management

    Make safety a priority.

I have been working at People Incorporated (MN) full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great pay for those without advanced degrees. Opportunities to work at different programs within the company. Good benefits.

Generally high turnover in some of the more demanding positions. Difficulty finding coverage if working in a residential program.

    Advice to Management

Support residential programs in identifying ways to cover shifts so staff can use their pto.

I worked at People Incorporated (MN) full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

It feels good to help those in need, and their benefits weren't too bad. They tried to make things fun for the employees because it was a stressful job at times.

    Cons

High turnover rate, very unorganized(like most non-profits), sometimes there was little to no guidance on how to do something. Worst of all was how two-faced people were and how political everything was.

    Cons

I worked at People Incorporated (MN) full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The clients, flexible hours, good training opportuniteis

    Cons

Upper management does not care. They find any reason to get rid of staff who have been there for over 5 years. Happened 3 times in my division alone and from what i hear is continuing to happen

    Advice to Management

Respect your employees. Advocate for your staff and not just your clients. It has to be costing you a lot of money to replace and train in all the long term staff you are replacing.
