I have been working at Pergo full-time

    Pros

Fantastic team. Safe working conditions. Competitive pay. Good work to life balance. Caring management.

    Cons

The health insurance is Absolute garbage.

    Advice to Management

For goodness sake. Get some decent insurance. I should not have to pay so much a week for such a high deductible. Even when the deductible is met I'm paying $500 a month just for 2 prescriptions.

    Pros

Coffee machine, tuition reimbursement, customer pricing on flooring

    Cons

Vulgar floor supervisors, poor machinery, weekend work schedules and being on call 24-7

    Advice to Management

It's been a while since I've left but I suggest focusing on what goes behind the scenes and start cleaning up shop such as hiring ethical managers.

    Pros

Great benefits, nice operators. Floor staff is great to get along with.

    Cons

Management is running the company into the ground. A lot of layoffs. Want you to do things their way no matter if it is right or wrong.

    Advice to Management

Let your employees try things their own way. Be more open to their suggestions and not closed minded by the book mentality.

    Pros

From the very beginning of its coming to the US, Pergo has been known as the industry leader: in both its product (laminate flooring) and its treatment of its employees.

    Fantastic benefits . . . great senior management team . . . respectful of employees . . . awesome place to work.

    Cons

In early 2007, Pergo was purchased by another company. Things changed rapidly - and NOT for the good.

Most, if not all, of the senior management left the company. New management does nOT appear to have the same respect for the employees.

Pergo is no longer the company it once was.

    Advice to Management

Communicate with the employees! Respect those who have been there for a long time.
