    Positive Outlook

I have been working at Piedmont Medical Center full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Willing to work with your needs and requests as far as stations/hours go. Very supportive as I attended school to promote from EMT to AEMT to paramedic. Supervisors are kind and down-to-earth. My whole shift is like a big family.

    Cons

Really can't think of any legitimate complaints. Sometimes have a difficult time getting email responses from certain supervisors. Most of the chain of command has poor grammar and mechanics in emails sent to the whole company.

    Advice to Management

Part time staff may need to be held more accountable for picking up shifts, entering availability. Wish that we could still take vacation days as "leave without pay" instead of PTO being mandatory - but understand this is a hospital/corporate policy, not just EMS.

    Negative Outlook

I worked at Piedmont Medical Center full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Only hospital in Rock Hill, nice coworkers but they don't stay long, larger turn-around.

    Cons

This is the worst hospital I've worked for. The stress in the voices of the staff, nurses, lab staff, ER, everywhere is palpable. I was forced to work multiple areas of the lab at one time including Blood Bank which requires direct attention (I know, I was a supervisor at another hospital) because it's very easy to harm a person, if not worse.

    Advice to Management

Get your act together, treat your employees with respect and listen to their concerns, especially if everyone is complaining about the same thing in respect to patient safety

I worked at Piedmont Medical Center full-time

    Pros

Thr training was good. Most employees are nice. Managers are fair when it comes to situations. I get to make my own schedule, and I love that!
I get most days I requested off. We are only required to work 3 12 hr. Shifts, so it's easy to pick up overtime. They have done away with our bonuses. Really sucks. The nurses get everything. Most travel nurses are nice. Cafeteria onsite. Great benefits!!

    Cons

Management is rude. Some rules apply to the full extent with some and others get away with everything. Bonuses have been cut. Some nurses are so rude.

    Advice to Management

Pick management who knows how to treat staff well. We have tough jobs. Sometimes my co-workers are bigger problems than my patients and their families.

I have been working at Piedmont Medical Center full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Lots of extra hours to pick. Bonuses.

    Cons

There are No incentives for techs.

    Advice to Management

Put in place a nurse tech to RN program for those who can't get standard financial aide. so we can become a nurse and still work for the company

I worked at Piedmont Medical Center full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Absolutely GREAT Benefits, OUTSTANDING Pay in addition to shift differential. VERY supportive Staff, Co-Workers and Managers. Very much a camaraderie/ family atmosphere. There is a lot of room and opportunities to transfer, change occupation and/or advance within the Tenet Healthcare System. I would still be very happily working there had not a Family Medical Emergency require my sudden and unexpected relocation out of State.

    Cons

Working as a Paramedic for Piedmont Medical Center / Tenet Healthcare System has far and beyond, more perks or "Pro's" than "Con's". ( Very much the COMPLETE opposite comparing PMC -to- Mecklenburg County EMS (MEDIC) However, specific to Paramedics, considering working for PMC / Tenet Healthcare, the one drawback to working at PMC, that is the overwhelming and frustrating commonality of "Late-Calls".

    Advice to Management

My advice to Management is to keep doing what your doing, it works!!! Piedmont Medical Center EMS has exceptional, extremely competent and supportive Manager's. I was also very impressed by the genuine concern for Paramedics and EMT's personal well-being, welfare and morale as displayed by the EMS Director / Chief .
