I worked at Plantronics full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Wonderful environment. Beautiful campus in Santa Cruz. The people are great. Great and visionary leadership.

    Cons

The old Santra Cruz crowd that talks about “over the hill” people coming in. Who cares where I live? Understand that innovation happens when we all work together.

    Advice to Management

    Great company. Keep innovating.

I have been working at Plantronics full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

    Industry leader with strong history.

    Cons

Past two years has seen a departure from all that has made PLT historically successful and a market leader.

    Advice to Management

Realize the value of the organization has always been in our relationships with our customers and our products and solutions. Get back to PLT core values and beliefs; there is a reason why historically we have been so successful. Sr. management seems to have lost its way.

I have been working at Plantronics full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Enthusiastic, intelligent and passionate work force. Employees felt a sense of purpose and were aligned on the goals. One could voice concerns without fearing retribution and ideas were appreciated. The kind of company you wake up in the morning excited to go to work for.

    Cons

Notice my comments are past tense. The senior management brought in over the last year is all about revenue at any cost. There is no vision other than make the numbers, follow the program, or leave. The Polycom acquisition only accentuated their narcissism. If it were not for the CEO's occasional town hall rallying speeches it would appear he has vacated the premises and handed over the keys.

    Advice to Management

Stop pretending to be transparent and walk the walk. Your employees can handle the truth . By doing so it is likely people will start focusing on their jobs Vs their resume.

I have been working at Plantronics full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great people: Polycom and Plantronics appreciate the effort that you put into the job. Company is 4 months into the acquisition and I am already seeing signs of "Better Together" throughout the company. Keep it going!

Interesting standalone product portfolio between the 2 companies, even better when these iconic products begin to integrate with one another.

Management focus on moving quickly to integrate the companies.

CEO gave an inspiring town hall. Love the candor, leadership and witnessing the emotional connect he has to the company.

    Cons

Change can be hard for some employees, but most are adapting and accepting the new challenge.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the energy, motivate and inspire and your employees will do amazing things.
