Not good for women.

Pros

Attempt to modernize office environment, create a casual and comfortable space.

Cons

There are some old boys in the boys club here. The types that have been in their line of business or with the company for 15+ years and do not respect, or choose to learn anything new from working with and alongside a woman, especially a young one. I felt unwelcome from the second I walked in the door. I don't expect there is much to change this culture within a small company.

Pros

Cool product Cool industry Easy marketing opportunities

Cons

No growth potential No direction Boys club The executives don't actually heed or take advise from the people they hired, only outside agency providers Mediocre pay with no incentives (no raises w/o promotions (and there's definitely no promotions))

Fun product, dedicated people, but massively understaffed.

Pros

- People are passionate about providing the best products and experiences. - It's common for PlayPower to promote from within, even from one department to another. - Improved senior leadership in the last few years, from a business standpoint, but tends to make decisions isolated from the common worker.

Cons

- There can be years between pay raises. - Severe understaffing in most departments leads to few people doing most of the work. - Low starting offers for new employees that are not competitive for the industry or the area. - Continual lowering of the budget and department resources with the strict expectation of greater output. - There's no centralized corporate culture which leads to an us vs them mentality amongst the different brands and locations.
