Pros

Salary and benefits are competitive and they sometimes overpay in order to get talent in the door of a company which has a bad reputation for treatment of employees at all levels of the company

Cons

HR is a nightmare to put it lightly, they’re driven entirely by ego and control. Any threat to HR will be eliminated at whatever cost, if you don’t agree with everything they say you will be a target. HR is who really runs this company, the owner eats out of their hand like a baby bird. no regard or care for what’s best for the company, no ability to change because the powers that be (sales execs and HR) won’t risk the stranglehold they hold over the company, it’s a mess, they look out for themselves at all times - those in power are egotistical and narcissistic to a degree I’ve never seen. This company operates with unbelievable stupidity, the original owner is no longer in control and has given his kids the reign, had he still run the show it would be a better place to work. Departments don’t work together, employees at every level are backstabbing and spying on each other m. Politics take so much time and effort away from making any real changes. This is a toxic environment in every sense of the word. THE GOOD REVIEWS ON HERE ARE ALMOST ENTIRELY FAKE & WRITTEN BY HR. It’s obvious when they’re cons are so fluffy. run while you can, HR and sales execs will come after you if you try to do anything that they don’t like or takes the spotlight away from them. Expected to work 12 hour days for salaried positions, no work life balance. Good luck if you have a family , kiss them goodbye. And lastly, you will be spied on by big brother at all times.

Pros

If you finished your HVAC school, you just can get enough experience to look for another job.

Cons

Polyscience is a company where you can work just to pay your bills. If you want to look for a promotion, the HR is a boosy in this building and you have to deal with her, yes! A manager is a person who supposed to give you a promotion..nope there! Again the HR has to much power there. Most of team leaders are designed by HR or HR. There are many thing that made me think I cannot have a future at polyscience. And also a Guatemalan family control all open positions and they are the best friend of this famous HR.

Pros

Some Good Lunch places nearby

Cons

The kitchen equipment they make is designed and manufactured as cheaply as possible. They have product made offshore then bring it back to the Chicago factory and 25% of the product made offshore fails right off the bat in Chicago. They try to fix the stuff and sell it as refurbished equipment at discount to the unknowing public. Kitchen equipment made offshore is made with critical components not specified but cheaper critical components that have caused safety concerns. Once again, when discovered they sell the product at a discount price as refurbished. There is a hostile cancerous work culture at the company where if an employee tries to bring out the truth about faulty product, upper management bullies and blackballs this person to try to get them to quit. There is a very sick, non professional culture here that has gone on for decades.
