    Pros

Working here was great, lots of room for improvement and moving up in the company. I would recommend this to others.

    Cons

There really wasn't anything bad about this company. The pay was low but i had zero experience in my position

I worked at Premier Tech (More than 10 years)

    Pros

None. I need 5 words for the review so that is it

    Cons

Just an awful place to work for. Worked there for 14 years. Management is awful. That place is one class action lawsuit away from jail hopefully

    Advice to Management

    Walk into oncoming traffic

I worked at Premier Tech (Less than a year)

    Pros

The job is fun because you hardly ever work on the same machine for an extended amount of time. There isn't hardly any heavy physical labor.

    Cons

The turnover rate for employees is horrible. There is a lot of waiting on the supervisor to assign work for everyone to do.

    Advice to Management

My advice to the Management at Premier Tech would be to hire someone as a production planner so that there wouldn't be any gaps in between the projects and all of the needed materials would be there on time instead of having to wait.

    Pros

Better than nothing maybe. May be able to gain experience but it may not help as the product line is unique so skills may not transfer to other jobs.

    Cons

45-50 hour work week. There is a really long probation period on hire (6 months) and then no raise until a year after that. No real training. The biggest problem though is the old boy network. One guys has worked almost all his live at Premier. Most has been there so long they can’t work anywhere else and they know it. One of these old boys is the only one that can do the final programming and testing of the bagging systems no one can challenge his authority. A few months ago a new hire made a comment about some code he wrote, he got mad, harassed the guy for 4 weeks and then fired him! He also chews tobacco and always has a big dip in his mouth. Disgusting!

    Advice to Management

Get the dinosaurs under Control. No one person in that office should have that much power!

    Pros

If you are French of speak French very well that is a definite plus. Privately owned, so not under the gun for quarterly performance nonsense. They have excellent techical people and research facilities and research and technical budgets.

    Cons

Middle Management has tried to use a business model that has worked for them in Canada, where they have absolutely no competition in the market, and then applied that model to a US market with over 20 competitors and 11 times the population in the US as there is in Canada.

    Advice to Management

To penetrate the US market you are going to have to hire US Middle Management with experience in the U.S. biotechnology market in order to be successful.

I worked at Premier Tech full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Good company to learn a lot of automation stuff. Worked for 6 years as service technician. They sell a lot of robotics palletizer, so i learned the Fanuc robots.
And other automated palletizing, bagging, conveying and distibution systems.

Good engineer team, good products, open mind developing team.

    Cons

They salaries aren't fare for everyone for the service technician department.
They overpaid incompetent people and underpaying the most skilled tech.

Too big gap in salaries between installations-commissioning and after-sale service technicians. They should put them on the same scale.

Lower perdiem, time-off compensation and advantage vs competition.

Real poor vision from the HR department.

    Advice to Management

Compare yourself to other companies in the automation industrie and you will realize why you have a hard time to fill the field service technicians position...

    Pros

Great place to acquire experience in many facets of Desk Side Management

    Cons

When not a part of the Campus policies, communication and efficiency deteriorates.

    Advice to Management

You need to put your Cultural values into practice and live less with your head in the dirt and see realistic views of cost to maintain the standards your campus is use to.

I have been working at Premier Tech full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The people and team building experiences are amazing. They are helpful and when you are at the Head Office in Riviere du Loup you have all the support you will need.

    Cons

Outside of their head office, management is very out of touch with the resources needed to satisfy the needs of supporting team members.
Left to often to make snap decisions without clear policies, clear procedures or clear job responsibilities. You are there to fill holes and put out fires in their other sites.

    Advice to Management

Management needs to get more in touch with life for their employees outside Quebec, cost of living, cost of travel, cost of supporting team members with only one employee to answer those support needs.
