Pros

The corporate office is a nice building with a workout area and dining room.

Cons

The hours were brutal. There was no overtime, and no comp time, just week after week of 60+ hours. No opportunities for women. Ridiculously pretentious dress code for a potato chip bag manufacturer. No sense of environmental responsibility. If an employee's direct manager was a tyrant, work was miserable and entire departments were highly dysfunctional as a result of managerial totalitarian power.

Pros

Nothing really, pay was good

Cons

Honestly, I don't do bad reviews, but this has got to be one of the most frustrating things I've experienced in my life. The team is already in cliques when I joined, and they love hoarding information and not sharing with the rest of the new hires. They form opinions about you on the get go. I only found out about this after my manager started attending interviews with them and sat in the post-interview round table with these people, the manager was able to tell me what happened and how they form opinions based on people's looks, and gender to determine if we should hire them or not. The upper management even said something along the line of wanting more attractive girl interns instead of qualified guys. I was utterly shocked by this. They have no training whatsoever, yet they expect you to pick up things quickly. I was just a lowly intern but I gotta admit, one of the worst experiences I've had, and I got out of there as fast as I could. HR doesn't do anything but saying political correct things to cover their behinds, they are always on the managements side and never even listens to concerns from regular employees

It is disappointing to learn that your short time with us was “frustrating” instead of exhilarating as we intended for our Internship Program. For certain, having a diverse pool of candidates is a priority for us, but so is having the experience, knowledge, and ability to perform in the role. You are right, we do have high expectations of our interns and that is why we are never surprised when they rise to the occasion and excel in their roles and understanding. Managers must walk a fine line with Interns and knowledge share. They need to share enough so that Interns are challenged and can grow, but not enough that it is distracting or overwhelming for an employee who will be with us for such a short time. Thank you for taking the time to voice your concerns. If you have any additional information to add please contact us at info@prinpack.com

Pros

Work life balance is decent Some departments are innovative in thought and treat their team with respect - a great place if you are looking to be in Product Development specifically

Cons

Way behind on inclusion and diversity, and the only push for it seems to be "to look like our customers" to appease them- not because its really the right thing to do. Obvious nepotism - understandable since its a family owned company, however, this ranks even among "friends" of managers who seem to have a golden ticket when it comes to opportunities. The mentorship program is a joke - no real structure on who gets chosen, you are either in the clique, or you aren't and that can form your whole career potential at the company. A blind eye is turned to mistreatment of employees. Lots of cover-ups. The company is undergoing a lot of restructuring which leads to speculations of what the future holds, especially at Headquarters in Atlanta. Many good people have left. This is not the right time to join the company, wait it out to see what the future holds. Single use plastics... what more is there to say?

Thank you for taking the time to offer insight into the 10 years you spent as a part of the Printpack family. It saddens us that you feel you were not heard and that our mentor program which has seen such success did not meet your expectations. We don’t agree with all your assertions but will take them into account for potential learning opportunities in our efforts to meet the needs of team members. We continually invest in our 3 employee resources groups: Printpack’s Inspire Women’s Network, our AIM (Aligning Initiatives for Minorities) and our YPN (Young Professionals Network) in order to promote and encourage diversity of thought and inclusion initiatives. We wish you happiness in your career journey and we welcome any additional feedback that you can provide so that we can continue to strive to meet the needs of our team members. Please email us at info@printpack.com for any additional feedback you would like to share.
