Pros

The office is a new, clean space with some free snacks and drinks. Co-workers are a nice bunch of hardworking people.

Cons

Has serious issues with "boy's club" favoritism towards long-time employees - good luck getting help from management if you aren't "in". The epitome of "talk is cheap" - you can be praised all year for your efforts but mysterious flaws about you will be raised coincidentally just before your pay review. Management is in denial about the issues within their company - if you are in any department besides the direct moneymakers (Sales and Analytics) then expect your issues to be swept under the rug. Our department was understaffed and our recommendations to refocus our efforts on rebuilding core systems for stability (instead of focusing on growth projects all the time) were ignored. When the cows inevitably came home, management's solution was to hire someone to whip our staff harder... right.

Pros

- Some of the people are great to work with. - Decent pay, above big 4 accounting firms (but still below market rate for analytics/data science) - Quantium day (a kind of company wide holiday/party)

Cons

- Some of the statistical work is dodgy/unethical. Clients don't know any better and so can't question the work. - Poor training. The technical staff there just don't know what they are doing. Quantium is far behind the rest of the world when it comes to analytics/data science. - The majority of the people there can't program. This is kind of ridiculous given that their website says they are data scientists. What kind of data scientist can't program? - There are far too many managers who have no technical background. How can you possibly manage technical people when you have no idea what they do? - If you leave the company you are essentially un-employable by another firm as you leave with no useful skills.

Pros

There are still some very smart and talented people in the company from whom you can learn a lot. If you get lucky and get assigned to a good project, you can pick up modeling skills.

Cons

Management seems to be focused more on getting extra business and maintaining their margins than retaining good employees. Work life balance is not even a thing. Team morale is very low as there has been a mass exodus from the company. Work can be very mundane and repetitive at times.
