I worked at RMJM full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The company had a reputable name until the current owners (non-architects) bought it and subsequently ran it into the ground

    Cons

This is a shell company that opens up shop to defraud its clients and workers. When the creditors come after them, they fold up and reopen in another country under a different legal name. No one should work for them or hire them

    Advice to Management

    Cease to exist

    Pros

That company was fantastic the first few years I worked there. The team I worked with was great, supportive, and talented. Unfortunately, they all left or were already looking for jobs when I left.

    Cons

Unfortunately, the company went up in flames once it was bought by RMJM, the recession hit, and they consistently didn't pay their employees. Leadership was demoralizing and horrible people. They didn't pay their bills or vendors.

    Advice to Management

Your employees are smart and can see right through you. Treat them like human beings.

I worked at RMJM full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Opportunity to work with talented colleagues, wonderful people.

    Cons

Salaries delayed for as much as 3-4 months on regular basis. Health insurance cancelled (without notice) several times - 2011 and 2012. No supplies - sometimes no plotter, no copier paper, or copier, toner. Staff stranded overseas due to nonpayment of hotel bills. Evicted from office once. 401k payments, transit pretax payments, health savings funds not remitted to vendor.

    Advice to Management

Sell the business to professionals who are architects. Pay your employees and vendors in full.

I worked at RMJM full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Interesting International work. There was allot of positive things to talk about with the firm before the 2008 crash. Highly Focus on invoicing and receiving billables

    Cons

The pay and benefits are very unstable at the present time. Staff have gone with weeks and a few times months without pay. Company does not pay consultants which leads to difficulties with project deadlines. All of the talented staff has left the firm or are motivated to find positions with other companies.

    Advice to Management

Upper management needs to learn to communicated better with staff.

    Pros

The people and the location. The work day was managable and the processes used to be like a well oiled machine.

    Cons

RMJM and the management team as a whole

    Advice to Management

    I have no idea anymore!
