I worked at RPA full-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

Majority of people are super kind, collaborative, and smart. This is what keeps people around for a while. Even when there is subtle toxicity elsewhere. The company culture is pretty adamant on NO A**HOLES. It is likely that you will find a great balance here. You'll hear it often: RPA can't be beat when it comes to work/life versus other agencies. I found this held true. RPA is NOT a sweatshop and would never proud...

    Cons

Creative work can be hard to come by. It is truly an account-run agency so it can be hard to push the envelope. Thus the clients and work tend to be quite conservative. With that said, there are a few gems on the account side that will FIGHT and fight HARD for the work. Ironically there were a few in HR department that were the least "People First" people I met during my experience there. It wasn't uncommon that you...

    Advice to Management

    - Try to be more cross-disciplinary between departments early on. Oftentimes the best work comes when creatives aren't held so lock-tight to their different disciplines. - "Lifers" don't necessarily = good leaders/managers. They should be reviewed with the same cadence as mid-levels or maybe even entry-level talent. - Hire more women and POC. It got more balanced later on, but a majority of leadership were men.

I have been working at RPA full-time for more than 4 years

    Pros

In the ad world RPA is a rare breed: an agency that's managed to hold a high bar for creative work without hurting or exploiting its people. There's also a relatively low amount of corporate BS with a refreshing focus on the work itself. When you start they give you a spiel about being a People First type of place but once you've been there a while you find that it's actually true in many ways of the culture.

    Cons

RPA is already a big place and has grown a LOT in the past few years. They're expanding the third floor to make room and rented some space in the next building, but right now it can feel a little tight and can be hard to find parking. Their location is also kind of inconvenient for most employees it seems. Santa Monica is one of those places where people can't afford to live so everyone commutes in and you're stuck for...

      I worked at RPA full-time

      Pros

      - Weather - Free parking - The hours can be pretty good by ad agency standards

      Cons

At RPA, it's all about the three Bs: Buck-passing, backstabbing, and Borderline personality disorder. I've never worked in a more politically toxic environment, nor have I ever felt more disposable to management.

      Advice to Management

They seem to be doing just fine and don't need my advice. Anyone considering coming to work here should think twice, however.
