I worked at Relativity Media full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great colleagues who have tons of experience and are willing to teach you the film business, production, financing and distribution.

    Cons

Mismanagement starts at top. Many lower executives do not get the credit/promotion they deserve. Too much turnover in company which shows instability at top.

I worked at Relativity Media full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The environment was really laid back, and everyone in my department got along really well. Corporate threw really great team building events, and the work/life balance was great.

    Cons

Not a lot of communication between management and assistants. My boss always made me feel bad if I needed a sick day or asked to use my vacation days.

    Cons

I'd love to go back if I had a chance.

They're doing a great Job and I'd love for them to keep it up.

I worked at Relativity Media full-time

    Pros

Small enough studio to get insights on other departments

    Cons

Without a clear focus, it became mismanaged and has since filed for bankrupcy

I worked at Relativity Media full-time

    Pros

The employees. Free snacks. Since it was a smaller company, more hands one. Good to take the experience elsewhere.

    Cons

No real room for growth. You are stuck in the same position. When they do give you a title change, they don't give you the money but expect for you to take on more. You have to leave if you want to advance your career.

    Advice to Management

Trust your staff. Communicate, communicate, communicate. Give real promotions.

    Pros

I enjoyed my colleagues, finding them to be hard-working and dedicated. They all either left before - or were laid off due to - the bankruptcy.

    Cons

Nothing that hasn't already been said. The company was poorly run from the top down. My direct managers were abusive and negligent. Having a personal connection to the CEO - but not having expertise or background - typically got you an executive job there.

    Advice to Management

    Better communicate to your staff.

I worked at Relativity Media full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I worked here for under a year before mass lay offs occurred in Marketing and Operations. I was laid off at that time. Prior to that I felt that although there were annoying politics here and there, my position was structured clearly and I found everyone to be great. A lot of changes were happening at the time, including office moves, but for the most part I worked with minimal supervision and my supervisor empowered me to do my job.

    Cons

A lot of changes were happening but I wouldn't call it a con really. There was some disorganization and a few egos, but thats to be expected when a company acquires another and offices are merged.

    Advice to Management

Don't really have any. I hope things are better situated now.

I have been working at Relativity Media full-time

    Pros

Entrepreneurial environment with lots of creative people. Nice offices in Beverly Hills. Interesting business model with offshoots in Sports, Modeling, etc.

    Cons

The leadership was very shady. Most have left now but RK has somehow survived even through the company's recent bankruptcy. Unfortunately, the whole operation seems to have been smoke and mirrors.

    Advice to Management

Best of luck in the future. It will be a tough row to hoe getting out of bankruptcy and rebuilding the company's tarnished reputation.
