    Pros

    Growth and training opportunities were there. Reviews and raises occurred and everyone new the device - even after Apple.

    Cons

    This company - Research In Motion does not exist anymore. It all changed when the device market changed.

    Advice to Management

    Will BlackBerry become like RIM again?

    Great peers
    Great benefits
    interesting technologies and leading in smart phone market(before iphone came along)
    Good opportunities to move up(all before the lay offs)

    Cons

    Upper managers do not care for your inputs
    Slow to adjust to market
    stuck in old way of doing things
    slow to come up with new devices
    new devices were 3 years too late

    Advice to Management

    It's too late to really listen to employees when we suggested we need touch phones and better browser.

    - salary is at or above market
    - most co-workers are good to get along with

    - good and honest leadership is lacking; i was told i was safe, then got laid-off a month later.
    - workers are over-worked
    - lack of growth opportunities

    - listen to employees.
    - don't just pretend to listen when conducting employee review

    There were some supportive and talented colleagues.

    Cons

    Too late to get serious about touch screen devices. Email and BBM (BlackBerry Messenger) was not enough to keep people from switching to iPhone and Android.

    Should have taken iOS and Android seriously.

    Move to US major city and listen to general consumer's. A product with future is for the people, by the people and from the people.
