Pros
Reverb was once a great place to work.
Cons
Sadly, Reverb is on a fast downward spiral, trying to eek revenue out of a tired business model with tired products in a tired market. Back in the day, Reverb was great. Their culture was legit. People enjoyed working there. I know I did. But Reverb has been through multiple rounds of layoffs as it tries to regroup and become profitable. Revenue was declining to the point at which they needed to not only downsize, but move from a swanky Durham location to a smaller, more modest, office space. Oh, and no more free drinks and snacks. Questionable Product Management decisions (often jerking the wheel toward the closest shiny penny) became a distraction and ultimately spent too much time analyzing why customers bailed during a signup funnel than paying attention to what the customers really wanted. "OMG conversions are down .01%, stop the line and figure out why!" Very distracting. Reverb is a shadow of its former self, and it's a shame, because at one point they had the talent to take over the world. Don't buy their 'hey we're hip, come work for us' mantra. It's a sham at this point.

Pros
Very laid back, respectful environment. Developers are uncharacteristically supportive (for engineers). Lots of upward mobility, including promotions from support tier into other departments (support staff in general seem to be treated really well). Fair compensation and benefits. Not crazy SF wages, but great for the area. Company is mature and actually profitable, while still maintaining a 'startup' feel (although not excessive). You won't need to worry about the company folding suddenly.
Cons
Development is very "wild west", but improving steadily. Frequent re-orgs are a bit disconcerting.

A great company working hard to solve real problems for musicians.

Excellent collaborative culture, data driven and product focused. These guys work hard and they don't give up once something is launched.
Cons
Was somewhat understaffed for awhile in developers, so things weren't getting launched very fast. However, I think that's fixed now.

Your colleagues will make this a great place to work.

Co-workers make this company a job to really enjoy; they are smart, funny and seem to get along well with one another. Med/Dental benefits are also very good and it's obvious these folks work very hard to make sure the employees have good coverage for their families. Getting to play with cutting edge tech is always a bonus.
Cons
Overall sense from employees that they are apprehensive and unwilling to speak up. Whether that is from a fear of having ideas shot down by upper management or losing a job, I don't know. But concerns brought up in 1:1 conversation rarely made it to team/company meetings or upper management. Communication from upper management can use some improvement. Specifically when it comes to sharing goals, company position (good or bad), development cycle/status/issues, critical issues and how you are doing as an employee. It's very difficult to gauge your own progress when you don't have a mechanism in place to ask questions about your performance. Yes there is the "open door" thing, but regular 1:1 (weekly or bi-weekly) meetings go a long way. Too often are senior managers in the trenches. Although this can be seen as a good thing in some organizations, I found that it seemed to inhibit staff from thinking through problems creatively themselves - "defer to Director of XYZ" then go push the buttons to complete the task. Change Management: essentially non-existent. See "Communication" above. Lack of upward mobility or career advancement; if i'm not mistaken, all of the senior staff have been there for a long time and will likely be there for a longer time. This means positions are pretty much stagnant and any possibility of moving up/out are slim-to-none. On the other hand, you can develop your own skills in various tech while utilizing members of other teams as mentors - as i've said, co-workers make this a great place to work and they are always willing to help.
