Pros

Located in downtown Chicago, plenty of space to work because everyone was fired or laid off.

Cons

Although this company is in an emerging field within the digital tech industry, this place is a graveyard where hopes and handwork go to die. Most upper management has their head in the clouds, and does not see the obvious cancer that is slowly killing their company. The platform is inherently unscalable, client success is a mess, sales are menial, and employee morale is at an all-time low. At one point this company was a fun and exciting place to work, unfortunately it has taken a turn for the worse with no signs of resuscitation. Worst of all this company has completely abandoned its own core values. Deception, dis-honestly, and intimidation are now commonplace. This company failed to scale with its 10 million dollar round of funding. This companies future will most likely end in a fire sale, with its pieces sold to only to a bidder foolish enough to purchase them.

Pros

Met a couple people who will be lifelong friends/confidantes

Cons

Some of the most toxic individuals I've ever met in my life. I personally witnessed 5+ people either forced out for no reason or leave immediately after getting a peek under the hood. Complete departments fired with little to no explanation then telling clients/possible partners that everything is fine, etc... Absolutely ZERO accountability across every team, individuals who have no business working with clients are leading strategy for clients. (how more clients didn't cancel is beyond me) The biggest problem is being obsessed with competition, a certain competitor was brought up on a daily basis, the CEO had a personal vendetta to 'get back' at this competitor. Truly the oddest behavior I've ever witnessed. I'm writing this to warn future candidates that they should not buy into the story told during the interview process.

SIM Partners Response

Client and partner satisfaction are top priority here at SIM, we never mislead or misrepresent anything to them. Proactive communication about technology updates as well as personnel changes has always been appreciated by our clients. This communication combined with incredible results of Velocity are why the vast majority of our clients renew year after year. Thank you for pointing out the need for accountability. For most of us here at SIM it goes without saying that we will hold ourselves accountable to each other and to our clients. However, when a company grows it can be a challenge to maintain accountability, we will redouble our efforts. The SIM story is one that we are proud of and we are sorry that you did not have a positive experience here with us.
