Pros

toxic work environment, can not recommend

Cons

I appreciate the opportunity I had to contribute to this organization and the professionalism of the VP of HR and her department, who handled concerns promptly and respectfully. However, based on my experience, I cannot confidently recommend this company as a long-term career option. During my time in the department, I encountered challenges with communication, consistency, and workplace culture. A notable incident involved a colleague confronting me in an unprofessional manner, which created discomfort and uncertainty about workplace expectations. When I raised my concerns, leadership facilitated a meeting to discuss the situation. While I requested to be relocated to another department, my manager praised my work and stated that he wanted me to stay. This was unexpected, but I appreciated the acknowledgment of my efforts. There were also instances of inconsistent policies, difficulty accessing necessary tools, and miscommunications that made it challenging to perform my role effectively. Additionally, an accommodation I was promised during the hiring process was later dismissed, making it difficult to work without spine discomfort. Ultimately, I made the difficult decision to leave after realizing the work environment was not the right fit for me. While there are talented individuals at this company, I believe clearer communication, more consistency in management practices, and a stronger commitment to workplace inclusivity would enhance the employee experience.

Pros

Omaha steak box at Christmas time, a free trip to great escape in the fall

Cons

It’s a bit silly that other financial institutions in town allow their tellers to sit but SeaComm does not. There are elderly and pregnant tellers who in my opinion should be allowed to sit while working. There are chairs behind the teller line but they are not allowed to be used if any members are in eyesight and even when there are no members it is frowned upon. The yearly survey they do to see what needs to be improved about the workplace was ironic because the CEO came to read the results at each branch and then would just disagree with what a majority of people wanted to change. The pay vs stress tradeoff wasn’t very good in my experience.
