Pros

I enjoy the work and do well with little to no supervision. The schedule is more flexible than most.

Cons

They increase the starting wage for new hires regularly but do not raise existing employees hourly rate to match. So the longer you stay with the company the lower on the pay scale you fall. My manager actually used this as the reason I would not get a raise quote "you already make more per hour than some do". Then she hired my replacement at $1 more per hour than I make and asked me to train her.

Pros

Generally, you get to work on your own, with e-supervison, usually setting your own work hours. The work is physically demanding, but usually not excessively so. As a vendor, you create relationships with store personnel, which can help improve your job networking for the future.

Cons

TNG sends far too many copies of magazines. Readerlink sends far too many books. Fact is, physical magazines & books are both dying off, slowly but surely. The next generations will be reading e-books & e-magazines. The good news is SMS is diversifying by getting into inventory mgt, merchandising of alternative products, such as sunglasses, bottled water & beanie babies. Problem is, logistics isn't keeping up with this growth. In many stores, particularly Kroger, there's little to no available space for overstock boxes of beanie babies, bottled water, etc. SMS doesn't pay fairly for drive time between stores. While driving, TNG Merchandisers are paid an hourly wage, however, there's no mileage reimbursement. TNG leaves much to be desired when it comes to timeliness consistency of deliveries from depots to various stores. And what usually happens is TNG Merchandisers' jobs are made much more difficult, because currently there's no system in place linking communication between depots, delivery drivers & TNG Merchandisers.

Pros

Low pay. Good if you are on some kind of assistance and dont want to make a lot. No danger of any increases in pay either,

Cons

Poor leadership, no training, no support. Just recieved an email from the company that they are reducing all wages of everyone in the company by 3.75%. Was only making $9.00 an hour as it was. They keep promising they are going after more business and things will improve. So far there is no evidence of that. They cannot decide on a name for the company and it has changed several times. This company is owned by a Canadian billionare who is very successful so it is really baffeling as to why he is allowing this company to go downhill at an alarming rate. It is quite obvious that he either has no interest in the company or this is simply a tax write off for him. The senior management i would not hire to mow my lawn. They are entirely incompetent. Its too bad really. it could be a really great company but it is being run into the ground really fast
