Pros
Applied online through college board. Got an email shortly after submitting resume with a few questions about my interest in the position. Had a phone interview, completed a short project and then went in for an in-person interview.
Cons
At a startup, every day is different which can be exciting, but might not be the best for someone looking for a lot of structure.

Great place to work, awesome distributed team, growing!

If you appreciate a remote-first environment, having few meetings, lots of autonomy about what to work on, when, and how, then this is a place you might enjoy. It's a startup with a very small team, everyone on a different location, but a lot of room to grow and experiment. Also, the company is very transparent about what it is and what it isn't. If there's something you don't like or would like to see done differently, or something you're just confused about, the communication channels are more than open and your input is taken into consideration. In this sense, you can be a part of creating the company culture you'd like to see.
Cons
Since it's a small and distributed company, you won't get benefits like a 401(k) or health insurance if you're outside of the US (at least for now). However, the monetary compensation is sufficiently good that you'll be more than able to acquire those types of services for yourself. The silver lining there is that you can then choose your own providers.

Great culture and leadership. Exciting future ahead

SSR is 100% remote. You'll have the freedom to work from home (or wherever), create your own schedule, and choose what you want to work on. Everyone here is trusted to deliver results so there is no time or need for micromanagement. The team is small but diverse and friendly. There's zero bureaucracy and office politics. Transparency is also valued here. This goes for everything, from individual work assignments to business performance. No one is kept in the dark.
Cons
If you prefer a traditional work environment with a large team, fixed hierarchy, and defined roles, SSR may not be for you. Everyone here wears different hats and contributes in different ways beyond the scope of their title.
