I have been working at Senior Helpers part-time

    Pros

I love working with elderly in home and also the nursing home I work at. But the best part is that in home I am able to take my time and get to know my client as a person instead of a client. There are awesome relationships we build with trust and understanding that I just love.

I am a full time college student with another part time job in a nursing home as a CNA and the hours for both jobs are extremely flexible.

I also like the fact that they care about their employees. I started at 9.50$ an hour and within six months I now make 12$ because I go above and beyond expectations and make being a caregiver my passion instead of job. It’s really nice.

    Cons

Every once in a while there isnt the best communication, but honestly- when is there perfect communication? Just like any other place there are always going to be misunderstandings. You just have to deal with them and move on.

I have been working at Senior Helpers full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

flexible hours, office staff is pleasant

    Cons

lack of communication, overworked, underpaid, too much expected, scheduling issues, we are sold as underpriced caregivers who double as a maid service.

    Advice to Management

There are many areas that need a TON of work done to bring them up to a level that is acceptable. Scheduling has been the biggest headache of all. It isn't healthy for the work relationship to leave workers in the dark about their hours. Also, maybe it is time to invest in a scheduling system other than what is operating currently. COMMUNICATION is key! There should always be an open line of communication from the office to the workers. Maybe hiring an extra person to double check with new clients, double check schedules, ect. Bring back benefits! Give more bonuses, and stop rigging the time and half to where you don't pay what is deserved.

    Pros

This company in Denver has an amazing owner and the company is really able to work within your schedule since shifts are day and night. They are willing to compensate you for travel when you fill in for a shift out of your area. Great attitudes and training.

    Cons

    I really have nothing negative.
