Great team, aside from a particular bad actor

Pros

Great team Smart employees, good attitudes Fun product, lots of potential You feel like you're helping with climate change

Cons

Sense's dirty secret is that there is a bad actor in the C-Suite trying to micromanage everyone else and gain power, but lacks the skillset to properly do their job, so it has a detrimental effect on the entire company. Senior management can't figure out how to deal with it because the CEO is enabling it for reasons unknown. Instead people just keep leaving - lots of talented employees out the door. New ones come in with lots of enthusiasm, but end up in the same place. This will continue to happen unless something is done.

Pros

* As others have mentioned " Flexible work arrangements. Although if some people believe you should be in the office, they will make doing your job difficult."

Cons

* Micromanagement * Retaliatory management * Transactional management * Will be used as a scapegoat by managers if anything goes wrong * HR is not your friend (go figure) * No room for growth * Poor pay * Minimal training

Do not believe the hype

Pros

+ Flexible work arrangements. Although if some people believe you should be in the office, they will make doing your job difficult. + Overall, the company does care about its employee's well-being. + Regular all-hands meetings and team meetings, which make you feel in the loop with the Sense's direction.

Cons

- In the first six months, you will think, "this is a great company", then Sense will show its true colors. - Plentiful amount of talking/meetings without action or direction. - In a growth phase, which comes with pain and frustration. - Some Engineering Managers avoid conflict resolution, which leads to some engineers just doing whatever they want. - If you have experience, do not expect you'll use it. If you are new, no one cares.
