I have been working at Sensitech full-time

    Pros

Work life balance is good, Northshore company, longevity of most employees, clean work environment/office space, free coffee and ice cream

    Cons

No collaboration, not open to new ideas, really tedious tasks (insane amount of ethics courses and ACE courses), waterfall process, slow work, need to jump through a million hoops to get anything out the door, no one talks to one another.

    Advice to Management

Be open to new ideas! Embrace Agile.

I worked at Sensitech (More than a year)

    Pros

Sensitech is a stable company with great benefits. The offices are clean and and well cared for. My peers were great people with a good work ethics. It is a great place to work.

    Cons

Beverly is a nice town but a little difficult to get to. Like all big companies there is an inordinate amount of time spent on educating the employees with concerns of ethics, social behavior and company culture.

    Advice to Management

The company is a great place to work but some of the managers are not listening to the employees when it comes to middle management.

    Pros

Supportive, collegial culture that fosters collaboration; Plenty opportunity for career advancement; Leadership team that cares about their people; Competitive pay and benefits.

    Cons

    Double-edged sword of being a part of a Fortune 50 company (UTC); Inter-department communication can occasionally be silo'd;

    Advice to Management

Continue the great work focusing on communicating with employees and providing opportunities to advance within the organization.

I have been working at Sensitech full-time

    Pros

Flex schedules, nice hourly people to work with, free education

    Cons

Upper management at the Redmond facility is the problem, no advancement opportunities, management has been there so long they will not change or listen to new ideas. Upper management lacks any coaching skills and will not appreciate anything you do.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your people and develop them instead of ignoring them and lying to them about their future.

I worked at Sensitech full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Growing company provides opportunities for advancement. Lot's of freedom within the company. Free education and good healthcare coverage. Located in a nice area.

    Cons

Compensation is well below average. Management team is hired based on popularity instead of skill and knowledge. Very few middle and upper managers have the basic management skills and education to properly run a team. Low level employees are typically blamed for management's mistakes. Management does not listen to their employee's ideas. If you are not liked then you can be sure they will try to force you out. HR will always side with management and can be very unprofessional.

    Advice to Management

Regularly talk to low level employees. See the day to day interactions they have with management. Make sure to do this in an environment that makes the employee feel safe. Assess current skills and knowledge of middle and upper management.
