    Pros

    - great team, everyone is a pleasure to work with, hard working, and very supportive
    - great company culture, employees are treated well--it is easy to voice concerns and work with management
    - generous paid time off, compensation, and other supplemental benefits
    - comprehensive medical, dental, vision benefits
    - challenging but fun work on a daily basis!

    Cons

I do not see any downsides to working at Service Partners. There are a lot of great things about working here, and I have not seen anything that should be improved yet.

    Advice to Management

    Keep it up!

I worked at Service Partners full-time

    Pros

Interesting industry, younger employees are much more fun to work with than longer tenured employees were. Good hours, not much evening work or weekend work.

    Cons

Old boys club, constant profanity used in office toward co-workers and employees alike, more tenured workers had no problem denigrating newer employees, this unfortunately included managers.

    Advice to Management

Don't be abrasive to new hires, they need support and positive reinforcement, not taking part in the negative peanut gallery when they are still learning how to do the job. Public embarrassment is never the answer.

I have been working at Service Partners full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

I've been with Service Partners for more than 10 years. If it weren't for my co-workers and my relationships with suppliers and customers I would have been gone. At one time, this was a great company to work for. Now, not so much. For the people at the branch level and at the corporate office who actually do the work, out side of Management, these are where the relationships are built that last a life-time.

    Cons

Corporate Management does not listen to their employees, they do not involve them in decisions of procedure changes when the fact is it is the employees who make things happen and who actually know the in-depth processes and how any change will affect other procedures or outcomes. Management does not communicate with employees as if they are part of the team, they tend to belittle them. You work long hours, sacrafice lots of personal time and enjoyment with little or no recognition or reward for your work. Long time employees are not recognized any differently than a new employee who has just begun with the company. Pay raises are only given every few years and even those do not equal the cost of living increases.

    Advice to Management

Stop being "bean" counters, stop acting as if you're better than everyone else, and most importantly, if you want everyone to feel part of team, treat them like they are. Communicate instead of keeping everything a secret.

I worked at Service Partners full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

The people are the best reason to work for Service Partners. Most employees have long tenure and are dedicated to the overall good of the company. It is a relationship driven business with many loyal customers.

    Cons

Service Partners is finance/operation heavy with no captain on the sales side of the organization. Due to the economy, many budget slashes have been made resulting in very lean (perhaps too lean) staffing. This has impacted morale at some branch locations.

  9. "Use to be a good company to work for, now all they want to do is thin the herd and get rid of good long term employees"

I worked at Service Partners full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

The people are the best part of this company. The cooperation between most folks is unparalled and results in a good working relationship between the people who get the job done.

    Cons

No career opportunities except for a chosen few, most folks are stuck in their jobs for life, there is no movement of field personnel to corporate and vice versa. Upper Management seems intent on lowering costs to the detriment of the people who do the work. Long hours and hard work mean nothing to senior management. Once you fall out of favor with some executive managers you fall out of the company. Pay raises are non-existent, the feeling from management is that you should be happy to have a job so take what we give you. Pressure from the parent company, Masco, to cover their losses makes life unbearable at times. Management will spend money on monitors and laptops but not their people.

    Advice to Management

Reward long term employees with job security and create opportunties for everyone, not your chosen few.

I worked at Service Partners full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

A very large company with many potential positions and locations to move to.

    Cons

The company constantly pressures its employees to do more and more and more to try to squeeze every penny out of every employee, while at the same time constantly degrades and criticizes the same employees for not doing enough or not doing things right when they're already stretched to the breaking point. They don’t respect years of loyalty and hard work, and will through longtime employees out with the trash if they find it to their advantage or if you get cross-wise with someone up high. They seem to find some managers, both high and low, that actually enjoy acting abusive to their employees that they manage (two that I can think of in particular). The managers preach ethics, while at the same time push employees to commit unethical actions. They are hypocrites. Not a good place to work if you want to enjoy what you do, or enjoy your life in general.

    Advice to Management

Appreciate your good employees more for what they do well and stop trying to make their lives misserable.

    Pros

Service Partners lets you do your job! There a very few Micro Managers. If your skills are such that you requite little hands on managing - this is the place to be. Just do your job - throw in some extra effort and everyone is happy.

    Cons

Sometimes the communication between HQ and the field is lacking. When you need a questioin answered, however, it will be answered in a timely fashion.
