      Clueless Leadership, Nothing Gets Done

      Pros

      Snacks, fun events, okay place to be if you like cryptocurrency

      Cons

      Nothing gets done. You feel like you're working for nothing because things get scrapped and things that are done are released half baked. Some employees (including much of the leadership) are nothing short of vile. If you're talented enough to work in this industry, look somewhere else first - or now, if you're still there.

      Amazing vision, mission, team, culture, industry, product, values. Rare opportunity to transform the world for the better.

      Cons

      Challenging, fast-paced, compounded risk (startup*crypto), uncertain, learning curve for those not experienced with crypto, libertarian values (only a con if you're a statist)

      A lot of hard work playing off

      Pros

      Over the past year, the leadership team at ShapeShift has been focusing on company culture and the benefits are starting to pay off. Even with covid, the company is at a great chemistry point where everyone legitimately enjoys working with everyone. It's also fun to work at a company where everyone believes in the company mission and is a crypto enthusiast. Lastly, I appreciate the leadership team for making tough decisions and pivoting where necessary. I'm glad we are constantly evolving our strategy as the market dictates.

      The unknowns if regulators are going to try to shut down our business (or try to limit crypto in general)
