Cons
I worked at this company for five months in a fully remote, new business development role. I was hired as part of a newly created business development program that was still being built. Roughly two to three months into my employment, the manager overseeing this program abruptly and mysteriously left the company. From that point on, anyone involved in the program was effectively abandoned and left to fend for themselves. After the manager left, I received no support from the company. Nearly all of the quotes I submitted were never returned to me, and my general manager stopped taking my calls and responding to my emails entirely. It became clear that there was no interest in providing guidance, feedback, or resources necessary to succeed in the role. Despite this, I was terminated during the week of Thanksgiving for “performance-related reasons,” without receiving any prior verbal or written warnings, performance improvement plans, or formal feedback. SCC does not support its employees. Now it is Christmas, and I cannot afford to buy presents for my family. All I can think about is how naive I was to accept a position with this company.
