Pros
Great co-workers, collaborative environment, some brilliant minds. Good life/work balance, remote environment.
Cons
Shipt serves as a training ground for Target's emerging leaders, particularly those in executive and C-level roles. The aim is to groom these executives for higher responsibilities within Target. However, this arrangement has led to several critical challenges: Expertise Deficit: Executives and C-level personnel often lack the essential experience and expertise to effectively steer Shipt towards its objectives. This shortfall can undermine the long-term success and stability of the company. Misaligned Interests: These executives are primarily beholden to Target's strategic vision rather than being committed to the success of Shipt. Consequently, Shipt becomes a testing ground for initiatives aimed solely at benefiting Target. Communication Gap in Workforce Reduction: Despite a corporate slogan of "People First," recent layoffs were executed with no consultation with directors and managerial staff. Many employees, including those in leadership positions, learned about the layoffs through social media and external news outlets. Even post-implementation, there was no formal communication detailing the extent or the identities of those affected, leaving teams in the dark. Ethical Concerns Surrounding Layoffs: The manner in which the layoffs were executed raises questions about the company's ethical stance.

Pros
Heavy investment in ML Tech stack.
Cons
I moved to Shipt from Target after being contacted by HR. The data science team has all the responsibility for defining the business model, developing ML algorithms, deploy, maintain and even sometimes assist the business and other engineering team. The business has no clue and when the revenue goes for a toss, entire blame is on the shoulders of DS. The DS team has to justify every month its existence. The problems to work as a DS are created just for the sake of creating a problem. Out of 10 business use cases may be only 1-3 succeed. The for other 7 then are on the DS. The situation with DS was so bad, the CTO, Sr VP all switched jobs within the same time frame in the last quarter.

Pros
Tips, flexibility, and that’s about all
Cons
The app for the shopper is terrible, my shopper card always quit working every time they updated the app which I would have to wait in line with support on the phone to reactivate it whilst a line of inpatient people waiting to check out are behind me. Their rating system is terrible because it doesn’t take in to consideration other elements that make affect your delivery window such as traffic weather holiday rushes car accidents. Rating system is rigged for failure in getting your stats.

Shipt gives you Flexible hours, good pay per order plus tips
Cons

Pros
Low experience work culture so lots of opportunity to have ideas as most employees are fresh out of college. The company has a lot of out of work learning opportunities.
Cons
Nothing inside this company makes sense, because Shipt is backed by Target very little business processes exist or make sense. No one understand the vision or how this business works, leadership meetings celebrate results that other companies would highlight as failures. There is no awareness on what is going right/wrong and how to keep it going or fix things. Individuals are massively overcompensated for doing lots of busy work. Recent layoffs were confusing, poorly executed and represented

Pros
None, there are absolutely no pros when it comes to Shipt!
Cons
The shopper app is garbage! They have a rating system that is a set up. If a customer gives you a thumbs down for any reason at all, it severely affects her rating. A lot of times, customers will become angry if they store does not have an item and they ordered causing them to give you a thumbs down. Shipt expects you to keep a rating no lower than 4.98 stars. It’s extremely difficult once you dip below that rating it’s a wrap you will hardly receive any orders and when you do, they will not be worth your time. The customer service they provide for their shoppers exponentially and completely useless company is hands-down, is the l worst companies I have ever worked for. I received an email stating my Shopper account has been permanently deactivated. When I contacted them by phone, they had no information and repeatedly told me I must reply to the email if I want answers as to why. When I replied to the email, I received no response. Several messages, requesting the details as to why my account was permanently deactivated. I have yet to receive a response. A lot of my customers chose me as their preferred shopper, which let me know that I left the majority of my customers were more than satisfied with their orders when I shop for them. Shipt owes me an explanation as to why my Shopper account was permanently deactivated. This is completely unfair and unacceptable and I am sure there are many shoppers that feel the same way as me. I would advise anyone that is considering working for this company, save themselves from disappointment and look elsewhere. I’m going to be looking into any sort of legal action that I can take on my behalf against this company they are taking vantage of us, and and then throwing us in the trash, while they recruit new shoppers.
