      I worked at SocialCode full-time

      Pros

-You will learn an incredible amount in a short amount of time. -Co-workers are generally smart, collaborative, and easy to interact with.

      Cons

SocialCode was once a good place to work. Sure, the pay wasn't that great, the benefits were solid but not spectacular, and the work/life balance was sub-par. This was offset by the awesome co-workers, the tight-knit culture, and the opportunity to grow your career in a relatively short amount of time. The company had a sense of direction, there were some good members of leadership, and while very few people saw SocialCode...

I worked at SocialCode full-time for less than a year

      Pros

Comes with the sought after perks of working at a tech agency in the city - stocked kitchen, cool office layout, social events, vendor perks, competitive pay, etc.

      Cons

Very young company - everyone feels very entitled with no experience to back it up. They promote their favorites from within every 6 mo- 1 year like clockwork. Almost no training support for new hires, left to your own devices to navigate yourself but at the same time are expected to know everything without any support. Poor in office culture about PTO and Work from Home flexibility. Everyone works long hours with...

      Advice to Management

Support new hires closely, prioritize people and not client revenue. Support your people right and the revenue will follow.

        Pros

I worked at SocialCode full-time for more than a year

        Pros

You get to work with some of the biggest clients in the space, learn the fundamentals, work with others fresh out of college, and have access to all major social media platforms and their representatives. The client services team are some of the best at presentation and professionalism in our space. I am extremely grateful for the opportunities I had to be at the forefront of social media marketing at the time...

        Cons

Once a trailblazer in the space with great culture, it has now been starved of innovation by constant reorganization and restructure with no real vision behind them. Because of the lack of innovation and the fast-changing nature of the space, it is quickly becoming a dinosaur. The company lived on the premise of audience-first activation and invested in technology for targeting and machine learning optimizations....

        Advice to Management

Please HR listen to those on the frontlines. The stories might not be ideal, but they will be insightful and helpful for making the workplace a better place for everyone. If you can encourage a place where everyone has each other's back, it will relieve a lot of pressure on associates and account managers and help them focus on their work.

I have been working at SocialCode full-time for more than a year

        Pros

Intelligent and friendly colleagues, learning experience.

        Cons

Leadership, for lack of a better description, is just a group of friends that joined the company at the right time. Obvious nepotism at its worst and absolutely no transparency to the org. The account management team is trained in a way that encourages abusive client relationships ie setting unreasonable expectations despite lack of bandwidth, working around the clock, and having no voice to push back on unreasonable...

        Advice to Management

Bring in outsiders to help lead the company if you want to save it, because very few employees have any confidence in its future with the current group at the forefront. C-Level employees - proofread your emails and speak confidently.

I have been working at SocialCode full-time for more than 5 years

        Pros

Talented colleagues, the tech stack is modern (AWS everything), market opportunity is there, compensation is great, work-life balance is great, CEO and GM are great.

        Cons

Weak middle-management and product team over all. Agile processes aren't fully developed. Lots of potential is being wasted.

        Advice to Management

Find the things that are working within the company and unleash it. Be wary of top-down processes being pushed by middle managers - this is just going to run away your best people. There are many folks who are not set up to add a lot of value, and we are doing these people a disservice by allowing it.

I worked at SocialCode full-time for more than 3 years

        Pros

        - fast-paced in an ever-developing industry - solid on-the-job, learning opportunities - good growth trajectory for the over-achieving - so long as you do, and excel in your job, you're afforded certain liberties - cool product offerings for clients that are industry innovative - some of the smartest people in the industry have begun/still are there - strong moral emphasis

        Cons

        - work becomes life (i.e. no work/life balance) - top heavy with regards to upper-management, and lack of talent/too young in those management roles - easy to coast for the unambitious, placing work disproportionately on the hard-working. - lack of cohesive culture and unity. exclusionary. - not adaptive toward macro, business trends in industry - bottom-line is the bottom-line, no matter it's achieved

        Advice to Management

        - Refocus on hiring and attracting strong entry level talent. Work on retaining them with better work life balance, incentive programs, and perks - remove senior management road blocks from decision making processes to move quicker. change the guard with fresh, innovative thinkers at senior levels - explore alternate service models
