- "Occasionally reaching office staff difficult, but over all great company to work for , good pay (could be better)." (in 3 reviews)

None. Work and grow as you can.

Pros
Spectrum Comm. has one of the smaller footprints of consultants on Beale AFB, but the company's culture is great. The company, which is headquartered on the east coast, goes out of its way to take care of its consultants in the field through superb Human Resources, financial support, and senior leadership presence on-site. In my experience of working for multiple DoD contracting firms, Spectrum Comm's compensation is one of the more competitive. They also take care to recruit the best technicians and managers. I've had several team and site leads fight for my best interest while with this company.
Cons
Because they are a smaller company, they take on sub-contracts for larger companies to which they answer to. This means these larger companies can influence certain aspects of the work or the client support decisions. Also, if you are staying on Beale, there is very little room for advancement, other than incremental raises or the rare site lead role.

Friendly atmosphere and fulfilling work
Cons
Low-ball salaries in many positions and disorganization in regard to annual reviews (they do t get done) which means no annual merit increases.

Pros
Employee Ownership, remnants of what used to be a great culture still remain. Good 401K matching schedule. Ability to come in whenever you choose, no set working hours. Typical day for staff starts whenever they choose.
Cons
Poor leadership starting at the top. What used to be a structured environment is now the wild west of management and execution. The processes and procedures either are non existent or when they exist are simply ignored. Strategic planning does not exist. Employees find out the corporate direction in a newsletter. Vacation benefit is below par and below companies in the same trade space. Poor performance by corporate employees is either ignored or unknown to management. Pay cuts enacted for senior management to resolve financial shortfalls within the company, yet, investments for poorly planned and poorly performing sales initiatives go on. This company has continued to throw good money after bad ideas. A very demoralized staff.

Decent company. Worse HR department probably ever
Jan 23, 2017 - Anonymous EmployeeRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
CEO is very hands on with the company. Participates in events and gatherings a lot. you can tell he cares about his company. Pay is good. at least for this contract.
Cons
HR department. I can't say how much they are the worse. Why? you may ask. well, when you're required to fill out and return a document to them, and you do, and they acknowledge they got it. and a couple weeks later (through the same email chain you sent your documents to them from) they will ask why havent you sent your documents. then you have to point out they're emailing within the very chain of emails with the very document they're asking for that they originally acknowledge they received it. that's just one example. the biggest is submitting your state tax form only to have never been finalized and find that you never paid state taxes all year and left with a massive bill to pay. Never in my entire career have I ever dealt with a more incompetent (from what it seems) HR department. though it primarily stems from one individual than it does the entire department. FYI, benefits are just ok. nothing great.

Pros
Great company to work for they are truly committed to their workers. I have nothing bad to about them. Good health plan, good hours, and dffrent things to keep you inspired and moral up.
Cons
It was a 40 hr work week and for the most part you you almost make your own hours as long as you put in a productive 40 hour work week. If you needed 2 hours off you just had to make sure you made it up somewhere in the week (or weeks since you were paid bi-weekly)

Oct 4, 2018 - Anonymous EmployeeRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
- Good benefits package - Genuinely cares about their employees - Good variety of job opportunities and geographical areas for employment
Cons
- Salary offerings frequently below industry norms, causing a "revolving door" effect in regards to employee turnover rate for some key positions.

Pros
Outstanding company with opportunities for advancement and growth. Excellent benefits, including medical, dental, vision, 401k, profit sharing and employee stock ownership programs.
Cons
Managers and supervisors do not always receive assistance required to be effective and efficient. Employees receive negative feedback quickly, but positive feedback is slow, if at all.
