    for staff with working hours

    Cons

Toxic culture from top management down

    Advice to Management

Employ managers that are capable of doing the job. Very poor educational background and poor training

I have been working at St.George Bank full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good opportunity to grow if you're focused.
    Good staff benefits.
    Good learning facilities.

    Cons

Sales targets really burn you out. When foot traffic is at low they like to focus on customer follow up calls which I think is really cold calling. No one likes a cold caller.

    Advice to Management

Sales targets needs to be negotiated. Very hard to meet target every 3 months.

I have been working at St.George Bank full-time

    Pros

The people and I mean the actual workers at local Executive Manager level and below are some of the best staff I have ever worked with.

    Cons

The Business Banking leadership team and I mean entire team. I have never met a more arrogant team of leaders that micro manage, manage up, focus on the ridiculous and not lead by example. They show a lack of respect the likes I have never seen from leaders such as sitting in meetings more interested in flicking through their phones than on their own staff talking through the business and their concerns. Raising issues are either pushed back down, flipped off as "tough luck you just have to do it" or so heavily filtered on the way up that by the time it gets to where it needs to be the issue seems trivial when in fact it is not. Most of the business banking team think the same however in the current environment are to afraid to speak up concerned about repercussions. The culture has been torn to shreds at the hands of this leadership team.

    Advice to Management

There needs to be a good hard look at the team leading the St.George business bank. You have a lot of great staff working here who are becoming increasingly weary and fed up at the poor management by the entire St.George business banking leadership team.

I worked at St.George Bank part-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Good Salary for technically unskilled position, room to advance if your are focused, career driven, and can play your cards right. And general company ethos is customer focused.

    Cons

Sales targets aren't really negotiated even though they should be, and there's plenty of corporate speak through upper management relms.

    Advice to Management

The sales culture burns good, hard working people out. Make it safer for people to ask for help.

    - Very sales orientated

I worked at St.George Bank full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Uniform provided
    Staff benefits on banking

    Cons

Unrealistic expectations for newcomers with training. Made to complete all training via elearning while trying to serve customers in a busy branch. Branch is understaffed so I was unable to get hardly any assistance with training. Horrible experience all round

    Advice to Management

Get a realistic onboarding/compliance training for new starters.

I worked at St.George Bank part-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

I loved the bank in the early years I worked for them for 18 years.

    Cons

My saying is you are as good as your last sale. The management were more concerned about sales rather than service.

    Advice to Management

    Treat employees with more respect
