    Pros

The skill itself is a huge one that helps you move around into different departments of the financial industry. Use it as a stepping stone to catapult your career. The people that you work with in your team are also awesome.

    Cons

The amount of politics is insane. Be careful with whom you talk to as word spreads like wildfire. A lot of the management are only looking out for themselves and say they care for you but when push comes to shove, they will not look after you. The department itself is undergoing massive changes as a result of the Royal Commission so the role itself is very tough. It is a sales role so the focus on making sure you meet their targets is immense. All the managers and senior managers in the building are friends so if you upset one of them, then they will all be breathing down your neck.

    Advice to Management

A lot of the people there shouldn’t be there. There is a focus on working as one team but this is clearly lacking. There are staff that shouldn’t be in the role and this has resulted in a huge disparity between the two teams that are there. You need to look after your staff as you have many talented people who are bending over backwards to make you look better. Stop walking around like peacocks with your friends and focus on how to make the space better. Give your employees a choice and listen to them instead of thrusting on new ways of making their job difficult. Spend more time investing and giving back to your employees or they are going to use your internet looking for new jobs.

    Pros

Good opportunity to grow if you're focused.
    Good staff benefits.
    Good learning facilities.

    Cons

Sales targets really burn you out. When foot traffic is at low they like to focus on customer follow up calls which I think is really cold calling. No one likes a cold caller.

    Advice to Management

Sales targets needs to be negotiated. Very hard to meet target every 3 months.
