    I worked at SweetLabs full-time

    Pros

Great people, company cares for their employees, challenging environment that pushes you to grow and learn, opportunity to learn and expand your knowledge.

    Cons

Communication was often difficult. Often times time would be wasted on simple errors that could have been alleviated with proper communication.

    Advice to Management

Take a look at how the manager communicate with the employees they manage and see how they can better that process.

I have been working at SweetLabs

    Pros

This company not only provides a lush, comfortable environment for motivated employees to work at their best abilities - but allows maximum work/life balance. As a designer, providing internal and external marketing services to the company, I get amazing and fun projects constantly! The software engineers I work with are completely open and friendly - no need to hold back here. We have weekly office lunch and happy hours...

    Cons

As we are still a young company - there are always trial and errors moments. But I believe this is the most vital stage for discovery and growth! While we continue to find our latest direction in the latest mobile or computer technology, we shall also form our identity and foundation. If you want a static corporate (profit matters most) environment that is well-engrained in societal expectations and demands - avoid a...

I have been working at SweetLabs full-time for less than a year

    Pros

This is by far the best company I have worked for in my career. The main thing that sets this company apart from other companies I have worked for is the senior management. I was instantly drawn to Sweetlabs when I had my first conversation with Darrius, the CEO, in my interview and he was a legitimate, down to earth, nice person. Don't get me wrong, this guy is extremely intelligent and driven, but he is not the typical...

    Cons

There is very little that I can classify as a con for this company. The only thing that comes to mind is that select departments have little to no interaction with each other and there is little to no opportunity to get to work with those colleagues and get to know them.

    Advice to Management

Continue fostering the culture and people that you have collected as colleagues working for this great company. Your ability to remain approachable and amiable people is what makes the atmosphere that draws excellence towards the company, in both success and personnel. If you can avoid the cliquey, elitist upper management hierarchy, you will continue to attract the right kind of workers who will help bring continued...

I have been working at SweetLabs

    Pros

SweetLabs has a lot to offer as a place of work. The environment is laid back, unconventional, and fun. The management empowers people with the freedom to to tackle tasks in the manor that they and their team see fit. There are snacks, foosball tables, happy hours, arcade games, and much more, but the best thing about SweetLabs are the people you'll me there.

    Cons

You may end up with some difficult task to accomplish, but you won't be on an island. You're going to be surrounded by creative and talented individuals who are just as passionate about solving problems and building something great. As long as you're willing to rise to the challenge and be part of a team, the obstacles seem to fall away.

I have been working at SweetLabs full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Apart from all the perks of Friday lunches, happy hours, random events like having a bunch of puppies in the office or going paint balling, the best part is employees are empowered to find and fix problems. Employees are treated as real people by the C levels and valued as members of their various teams. The Seattle office is very casual and easy to work in. It is definitely nice to not feel like a disposable part...

    Cons

We go fast and sometimes that means forgoing doing things the right way. From a server and security standpoint, that can be scary. I have had more than one time where someone on the team spent 16+ hours working on a project to have that abandoned for a different direction. Communication can sometimes be lacking or non-existent to the point that you don't know why you are doing something and you just hope that it provides...

I have been working at SweetLabs

    Pros

SweetLabs is the most unique company I have ever worked for. Not only does the leadership team actually care about our happiness and well-being, but they also give us the freedom to step up and grow and learn new things. Something else that sets SweetLabs apart is the amazing group of people that inspire me to come into work everyday. It's not everyday you find coworkers that you actually like spending time with and can...

    Cons

SweetLabs is a fast-paced company, we've always been that way. When you move at a pace like we do, sometimes things like communication, on-boarding, and training can be a challenge to keep up with. I know the company is working extremely hard right now to help fix some of those obstacles, so hopefully we will see some improvement in these areas in the near future.

    Advice to Management

Take more time to give constructive feedback to your employees. Everyone wants to know whether or not they are doing a good job.

I have been working at SweetLabs

    Pros

Great work/life balance. Awesome team full of interesting and fun people. A constant flood of new projects makes for a lack of opportunity to become bored. There's always 'something' new on the horizon to keep you motivated and pushing. A lot of opportunity to play with new technologies.

    Cons

The same constant flood of new projects often forces half-baked solutions to be rushed out the door to be refactored/fixed later on. An above-average amount of context switching (even for a startup) can lead to confusion/missed goals.

    Advice to Management

More clarity in communication of product vision & purpose. I build things because I enjoy seeing the finished project, not necessarily because I like building the systems to back it.
