    Pros

I cannot find five good words to say about this company

    Cons

Too high of a workload. If you get laid off even after 10 years of faithful service, there is no severance.

    Advice to Management

Tom Veal needs to get into the field and understand how hard people work. I know he said he doesn't invest in his employees because he figures they will only last 3 years. Have a heart

I worked at TRISTAR Risk Management full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Work comp claimants were more knowledgeable than staff

    Cons

Worse company ever. Bad HR. Bad salary. Under 50k a year and they did not honor overtime per federal law. Long hours and no leave time. Understaffed and a crackhead for a manager. High turnover of staff and they are clueless. Their inside bill review company sucks worse than trump. Simply embarrassing. High cost for medical. Discriminatory and a joke

    Advice to Management

Get your crap together. You're not always on your a game. When an employee comes to u with ways to improve do not make the situation worse

I worked at TRISTAR Risk Management full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Competitive pay and great employees.

Employees are very caring and compassionate and wants you to succeed. Diverse and inclusive environment.

Knowledgeable examiners coming from all different experiences.

    Cons

    Benefits are poor.

Volatile work environment. If a customer leaves for an competitor, your job is in jeopardy so expect to get "laid off".

    Work environment can be political.

Systems are not "state of the art" as they claim. They are obsolete and are in dire need of renewal.

Allowing people with untreated bipolar disorder to manage. Horrendous working experience with this manager. Never for once have I worked with such a psychotic individual. You dread going into work every day.

    Advice to Management

    Upgrade your benefits and system.

Run a psych test on your supervisors before hiring them.

I have been working at TRISTAR Risk Management full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The General Liability team is great and supervisor is great. Willing to accommodate working from home. Tristar likes to promote within and they have a training system for Work Comp which is rare for TPA's.

    Cons

Claims is tough. Working for a TPA you feel overworked and they can never have it adequately staffed because the carriers get discounts so the TPA can keep accounts or get accounts. The advent of computer and better technology means less administrative help but more administrative functions. Tristar uses a claims system that adds administrative tasks. You spend half your day paying invoices, setting up additional claimants, naming documents, and phone calls. When do you have time to adjust and write reports?

    Advice to Management

Most of the managers are great here. They listen to their employees and try and do the best they can. My advice would be just to try and be more realistic with clients when bidding accounts.

    Doesn't Recommend
    Negative Outlook
    No opinion of CEO

    Pros

People who work there are great--really want to do what's right
Employees are given lots of autonomy

    Cons

Growing too fast to keep pace--too many acquisitions
No clear strategy of what company wants to be "when it grows up"
Lost many good employees and large, key accounts due to lack of vision
Systems are not good--IT is very weak
    Morale is low

    Advice to Management

Take a moment to assimilate new companies as they are acquired
    Be responsive to employees
