I have been working at TTX full-time

    Pros

The people that work at TTX genuinely care about their employees and their work. It is evident in the interactions they have with one another and with others at Corporate or in the field.

    Cons

24/7 operations bring many challenges, especially for field employees.

I worked at TTX full-time (More than 3 years)

I have been working at TTX full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Benefits(better suited if the individual is older or/has a family of their own.)

    Cons

PAY is low, new hires are now considered "tier 2". Both "tiers" do the same exact work, but tier 2 gets less pay.. ? .
UNION is not unionized ... everyone out for themselves. Rushing not safe at times.
Need more improvement on work "Organization/tidiness" .
Look somewhere else if you want/need decent pay for the skill.

    Advice to Management

Work with your team.. workers that actually are in the field have more insight on how it could/should run smoother.
    Do not focus on intimidation..

I worked at TTX full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Benefits are the only thing this company has going for it!

    Cons

Long hours, low pay for skilled labor, uneducated management, low morale inside the shop, Upper management never on the premises, there’s always some kind of tension between employees in the work area!

    Advice to Management

Start treating your employees like they’re people! Stop taking away everything they work hard for! Listen to your employees and make their jobs easier instead of making it harder for them. Promote from within instead of hiring someone from the outside that has no clue about how a rail car works! Have someone on the premises your employees can talk to!

I worked at TTX full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Health insurance, railroad pension, stable, overtime, location, they pay to clean your uniforms, free life insurance, boot money every year about $500.

    Cons

Pay could be better currently at $25 per hour for Carmen.

    Advice to Management

Pay a little more per hour like a couple dollars more.

I have been working at TTX full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    People, Wages, Benefits, Multipul Shifts...

    Cons

New hires can be stuck on one shift for sometime.

    Advice to Management

Tier 2 was a bad idea just to get back into areas we lost. That was A.R. error but he's long gone with a Golden Parachute now. Management is too tight with exsisting locations and funds. The focus is on new locations to get up and running. My location started in 1989 and we just got a tank (that runs out) of water. Still waiting on a new trailer (that was built and sent to new location two yrs ago). It can not be about the profit if it's to work for all TTX employees.
Training is good and needs to continue. Should start with location supervisors as some are just adopped in. Current blue flag seems to be working but parts of it leave for little work time which some don't mind.
I will miss the camaraderie with my fellow workers and hope management will step up their game after reading so many negative reviews about MY company...
