I have been working at Tarleton State University (Less than a year)

    Pros

The people are wonderful. I recommend working for the school every chance I get. There is a culture of support and kindness. This company actually brings their core values to work with them every day

    Cons

The pay is low. However this is fair for the amount of responsibility of the student worker's job. Your pay is low but so is your inconvenience and stress level. All-in-all it is a fair wage

    Advice to Management

    Keep being great!

I have been working at Tarleton State University full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Working with Tarleton State is like family, you feel like you belong. Benefits of working for a University are satisfying and everyone enjoys their work.

    Cons

Tarleton State struggles like any family does. While Tarleton State is moving towards a better future, it has moved at a slower pace than some other Universities.

    Advice to Management

My only advice to management is to spend the money on integrated systems which they have already done and looking to implement in the near future.

I worked at Tarleton State University part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Flexible hours, nice young people, excellent environment, knowledgeable colleagues

    Cons

Bad pay, political environment, adjuncts under-appreciated

    Advice to Management

Adjuncts wok hard for almost no pay, it would be lovely if administrators remembered this and treated them with a little more respect

I worked at Tarleton State University part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The work was engaging and the hours were very flexable. It gave me a good chance to work with other students.

    Cons

The hours can be long and sometimes fruitless. Experiments, once started, must be completed. Working with lab mates can sometimes prove to be difficult.

    Advice to Management

Try to hire students that are truly dedicated to the research experience that you are offering. This will ensure that research teams are not held back by any students who slack.
