I worked at The Distinguished Programs Group full-time

    Pros

    Innovative and culture minded organization

    Cons

Many times change is too fast and furious. Needs to let people settle in and get used to the last change.

    Advice to Management

    2 way communication is important.

    Pros

Good location convenient to most transportation. Can not really think of any real advantages here other that a paycheck and different group of personnel often if you like meeting new people.

    Cons

Too many politics - concentration on foreign interests - employees tossed aside often - really NOT an innovative company but stuck in the ways of OLD senior management.

I worked at The Distinguished Programs Group part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Practically guaranteed a promotion in one year.
    Wonderful managers.
Very lenient when it comes to scheduling.
Great pay for a college student.
Great place if you have good people skills.

    Cons

Tough to get a position with an office because they are all taken up already.
Growth is dependent upon how long you've been there (some have been there for decades) and how much they like you personally.

I have been working at The Distinguished Programs Group full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

It's always great when you can say the people you work with are your friends and the leaders in the company really care about the employees. We have some great perks as well that include cell phone reimbursement, PTO, 401k, great healthcare with a Difference Card that pays for copays and deductibles, and perhaps the coolest perk of all, we get a month long paid sabbatical after 7 years! How awesome is that! Plenty of career growth potential and they will work with you to develop a plan to get where you want to be.

    Cons

My company just merged with Distinguished and there are still a lot of processes to work out and confusion on who is in charge of certain jobs. Some items have fallen to the wayside that should have been figured out before we came together. Even though there are a few items we could have done better, the vast majority of the merger was smooth. It's a great company that I am excited to be a part of.

I have been working at The Distinguished Programs Group full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Honestly, this company is all about the people and the great work that they do. When I was considering coming to work for Distinguished Programs, I didn't know much about the insurance industry, but once I met the people here, I knew that it was the right fit. The company has a fantastic culture which is focused on equipping their employees to do great work and develop personally and professionally. Great salaries, growth opportunities, caring management, and even a sabbatical program! What more could you want?

    Cons

The company is growing quickly. Whenever we acquire a new team, we really try hard to make sure that the new team members feel integrated into our existing culture as soon as possible. We are doing a much better job at that outreach, but can always do better.

Like the friendly working environment. There are always people to go to when you need help. I was trusted and was able to bring my own ideas to the project.

    Cons

Training was not sufficient and could be more organized.

    Pros

A very collaborative environment. There are a lot of very smart people who work there. They are continually looking for new ways to improve processes and become that much more valuable to their clients. They take care of their employees and foster learning and growth. Their tagline of We'll Be There holds true!

    Cons

There seems to be some great people in mid-to-senior level positions who should be elevated into more senior positions. They have the potential to really make a difference!

    Advice to Management

Continuing to expand your book and grow into other areas seems like a smart move. There are some long-term senior managers who are really smart, do a great job and you should look to in helping to drive the direction of the company. They could be key to future growth!

Most of the employees are managers.
