I worked at Tradebe full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    There are no pros, honestly.

    Cons

Poor communication between management and chemists. Different divisions of the company compete with each other instead of cooperate. Management does NOT care about your health and safety, they only want to make their money and will make you do anything to get the job done and make the customer happy. Irregular schedule and work hours. Some weeks you work up to 70 hours in 5 days and other weeks you will struggle to even get 35 hours. So either way, overtime is not worth it to work that hard, and the pay is laughable at anything less than 40 hours a week. Bottom line, NOT worth it. You will work way too hard for such little pay, and most of all such little appreciation from management. There is a reason there is a high turnover rate and people usually don't last more than six months to a year.

    Advice to Management

Appreciate your employees more. Show more accountability for poor management on your part instead of blaming the chemists. PAY your chemists much more per hour. Tradebe has so much potential in New England specifically. There are six state universities, four Ivy Leagues, and many other big-name colleges. Boston has the most colleges per unit area than anywhere else in the world. There is SO MUCH potential here. The technical services could have a monopoly on those contracts within 5-7 years but that is never going to happen. If you want to be the top dog and win those contracts you need a team of experienced chemists. But you're never going to get to that point. You want a team of 5 chemists with 3+ years of experience each? You need to keep your employees for longer than just a few months to a year. Technical services has so much potential here in New England and the opportunity will never be achieved. And it is ALL managements fault. Good managers mean chemists will stay with the company and be productive, and thus more business and more money. Your biggest downfall is being too cheap and stingy. You've gotta spend money to make money. Business 101, guys.

    Pros

Most of the people are friendly. Steady (albeit low) paycheck.

    Cons

Micromanagement, no growth opportunity, very low pay, insurance sucks, no OT allowed, only get a raise every other year, many more complaints. You pretty much don't matter to them unless you are from Spain or are one of the "Core" SAP crew.

    Advice to Management

Get rid of some of these overpaid idiots and let the little people do their job without someone breathing down their necks! Give us a decent pay, one that we can live on.

I have been working at Tradebe full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The people that are there are hard working and dedicated to a fault. Lots of smart and talented staff that get overlooked.

    Cons

No growth opportunity, horribly low pay, nothing is streamlined, employees feel as if they aren't respected or cared about. There is nothing to strive for. Upper management micromanages and doesn't let managers do their jobs.

    Advice to Management

Wow - too much to say. Maybe get rid of upper management and get real corporate people in there.

I have been working at Tradebe full-time

    Pros

Good "kick start" place to get into the field. Plenty of training, some managers are easy to work with when it comes to scheduling.

    Cons

The plant maintenance has fallen behind, potholes everywhere, simple things that could be fixed or cleaned don't get done. The exposure to the large amount of chemicals.

    Advice to Management

Less time trying to cram every bit of material into the day and focus more on plant maintenance. Overall decent job though.

I worked at Tradebe full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Good entry level starting point. Great way to collect a paycheck if nobody else is hiring. Lots of parking available.

    Cons

High middle management turnover, low pay, low raises, zero room for promotion. If you make your goals they leave you alone, if you don't your gone. No long term strategy for safety or environmental programs, this company is accusation focused only. The hourly employees and mangers are worked round the clock, this is not a employer for people who want a life or need continual affirmation.

    Advice to Management

Hire professionals who have a global strategy and vision of what your program should be, and let them do their job. Not every aspect of the organization should be run from a spreadsheet.

    Pros

A nice company to begin your environmental career.

    Cons

Employee's are over worked and under paid

    Advice to Management

Do not micromanage! Respect your subordinates. Stop " restructuring " every 3 months, there needs to be better stability at the cooperate level.
