    I worked at TransCare full-time

    Pros

there were really were no pros. it was I will say begrudgingly that as an entry level job it was an "O.K." job straight out of school but the company overall had very few pros

    Cons

health benefits were good but deductibles were high for the industry no real support from management at the lower level of the organization. entry level starting salary low for the industry. Overall not a good company

    Advice to Management

upper management should get into the "trenches" whit all employees so that they can see the level of disatisfaction many employees feel and perhaps hey could stem the high employee turnover

I have been working at TransCare full-time

    Pros

Room for advancement, Transcare has 911 contracts in New York City and in Westchester County. Overtime is usually available when needed. Highest paid private company

    Cons

    Poor hiring and rehiring practices.

    Advice to Management

Do not rehire former employees that leave negative reviews on this site or any other review site (especially the ones that made it so obvious to figure out who she is - Review dated 1/10/16 after she resigned (on 1/816,) yet again. But at least it wasn't because she let her EMT Card expire.) Do not rehire former employees that complain about a "negative culture" they themselves participated in. Employees sleeping with each other is nothing new, but complaining about everyone else and not including yourself is just plain silly. It's easily forgotten how this person slept with a number of employees including a married turn out coordinator. Rules certainly did not apply to this employee so as long as she was dating the right person at the right time. Such benefits included the ability while on the road to change partners, the ability to change trucks because pretty girls deserve pretty trucks or being given a schedule they liked, especially one where there are no supervisors around to tell you to not use your place of employment as a daycare center because you have no one to watch your young children. Let us not forget when she applied and was giving the turn out position, and then requested a schedule that would cause her ex (the one she sent a bevy of unanswered love letters to – both handwritten and emailed) to have to see her and interact with her because she is his relief. Do not rehire former employees that create hostile environments by exhibiting the same childish and vindictive behavior they are writing about. Let us not forget how, this same employee took out her frustrations (while working the turn out position) on any employee that had dated her ex or was friends with her ex’s current girlfriend (who ultimately turned into his wife,) by marking them late in the system even though they were on time, ignoring them at the desk as they were attempting to update their jobs in the system, or turning in their paperwork and gear at the end of the night. It's not called hanging out if you are looking up another employees schedule so that you can confront them outside of the base, because you’re upset that your ex wont get back with you because he’s genuinely happy with someone else. Please Transcare do not rehire people like this. But I will give the reviewer some credit, she was absolutely right in stating that Transcare hires childish employees, and she was one of them, and in the future I hope they discontinue this negative practice. Because it affects us all.

I have been working at TransCare full-time

    Pros

    - People that i work with are generally nice people who do care about their job and their bedside manner
    - Overtime is pretty accessible
    - More freedom on the road than other Ems agencies (e.g. Break times) and you don't feel too burnt out

    Cons

    - Bad communication between management
    - Multiple Supervisors and bosses who don't seem to know their exact roles and what is expected of them
    - Favoritism
    - Dispatchers do not generally have Ems backgrounds so poorly arrange Medical transports which end up being cancelled or bounced due to lack of Medical necessity for Ambulance, resulting in the company losing money
    - Pay is not appropriate

    Advice to Management

    - Make sure people are doing their jobs and care about what they are doing
    - Go the extra mile to help your employees out
    - Focus more on correct ambulance transportation to avoid losing money and wasting peoples time
    - Instead of constantly hiring new people, considering keeping your current employees who are performing well and implement a way to see who is performing well

    Pros

NONE. This could be an excellent company to work for IF they invested money on functioning equipment and supplies in general.

    Cons

Hoping you get paid! There have been times where EMPLOYEES DID NOT GET PAID FOR WEEKS! When employees finally did get paid, Transcare DID NOT pay interest on money owed. Transcare is an AWFUL company to work for. I work out of the Mt. Vernon base. The dispatchers are the B word with control issues. The office/ turn-out staff constantly demonstrate favoritism among employees. EVERYONE SLEEPS AROUND WITH EACH OTHER! Even the married people. It's the company culture. Very inappropriate, RACIST comments against African Americans and women practiced by turn-out coordinators and the Mt. Vernon 911 employees who "hang out" at the base. Even the "N" word is tossed around!!! Extremely childish office staff. Very vindictive supervisors. HOSTILE work environment. Rules don't apply to everybody. Turn-out employees that are NOT EMTs ACTUALLY ARE ALLOWED TO RESPOND TO 911 CALLS WHEN COMPANY IS SHORT STAFFED!!!! You will feel very defeated working here. Take your tech card to FDNY. RUN FROM THIS PLACE!!!

    Advice to Management

Stop promoting brown nosers. Stop favoritism. Stop hiring children with no reason to commit to the job. Hire adults. Stop by on New Years Eve to catch turn out staff and mechanics DRINKING while on the job and having spouses, and significant others just hanging out and also drinking.
