While the company itself and coworkers are amazing, the actual daily LDAR routine can get pretty boring and monotonous.

Consulting Firm With Lots to Offer

    Aug 19, 2022 - Senior Professional
    Recommend
    CEO Approval
    Business Outlook

    Pros

A solid closely-held consulting firm with consistent organic growth over 30+ years. The client base of the firm is very diverse, and the management staff maintains a true open door policy. There are lots of employee programs available for learning and growing, including a mentoring program, project management training, supervisory training, and technical roundtables through the Technical Leadership Program. If you are interested in eventually moving to a different location, transfers are always looked at as a viable pathway for individual staff members. With the continued geographic and technical expansion, supervisory/management roles and technical leadership roles are always available. For those who have been in consulting for a while, you'll appreciate the single profit center approach, which promotes lots of cross-sharing and reduces internal competition for work. Strong safety culture is prevalent in the firm, with clients wanting to use Trihydro due to the strong safety culture (and the low safety stats don't hurt either). Although headquartered in Laramie, Wyoming, other office locations are allowed to be managed consistent with local conditions. 401K matching is hard to beat in this industry and annual bonuses (as profit allows) are a pleasant surprise.

    Cons

<600 employees (right now) means that some potential projects that require huge increases in staffing are not compatible with maintaining quality across the company and cannot be accepted.

    Degrees shouldn't be everything

    Sep 15, 2022 - Enviromental Manager
    Recommend
    CEO Approval
    Business Outlook

    Pros

Within Trihydro I have gained a lot of experience in the field. They had great flexibility and allowed me control over my schedule and connections with other companies. I was my own boss for the most part and was able to learn waste water treatment and welding, to name a few, on the job alongside of my desire to do so.

    Cons

However, due to the fact that I did not have the "right" degree I was told often that I would never succeed within the company or grow. Those with the "right" degree were often trained by me and never showed the field knowledge to put their knowledge to practice. Even after a decade of service, growing the company, gaining clients, I was never "good enough" becuase of the type of Bachelors Degree I possess. A shame when a company does not value loyalty or hard work.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We appreciate your feedback and hearing about the aspects you most appreciated about your role and Trihydro’s culture. We regret to read about your experiences related to your degree. We welcome team members with a range of academic backgrounds, from those with advanced degrees to those with high school diplomas. Depending on the type of project, there may be certain degree-related requirements passed down from the client or contract, but we do not have internal policies requiring specific types of degrees. We welcome employees with diverse backgrounds. We are surprised to learn that you were given the impression that your degree is somehow a limitation. If you would be willing to connect with us to provide additional insight into your experiences, we would be grateful for the opportunity to learn more. Please consider contacting us at 800-359-0251 or hr@trihydro.com.

    Low Low Low Pay

    Oct 8, 2022 - LDAR Technician
    Recommend

    Business Outlook

    Pros

Friendly People. Welcoming Environment. Okay Health Benefits

    Cons

Lots of Travel. I mean lots of travel. Low Pay 18-20 dollar range. You do get raises but at .50 cent increments. If you travel via Airplane, a full day of travel has take 11 hrs but the Project Managers tell you that you can only get paid while in the air. Any time traveling to and from the airport with equipment and and wait time before or after a flight is unpaid. I would advise people to stay away your time is more valuable than would this company will offer.

We are always open to comments and suggestions and welcome you to connect with our HR Department at (307) 745-7474. Take the good with the bad

    Pros

    - flexible schedule - good benefit package - lots of work from existing client base

    Cons

    - lower than average pay across almost professional levels. - lots of turnover of entry level staff. likely due to above note on pay - small town company with small town mindset on workplace changes and shifts. uses numerous cowboy references in company documents which probably strikes a chord in Laramie, but doesn’t at most other office locations. - most of the management and all of the upper level management are in Laramie. it feels like every important decision has to come from or be routed through Laramie.

Careers
Looking for a meaningful career? Trihydro is supporting forest resilience efforts one project at a time and has openings for professionals looking to build a career with purpose. Forests support clean air and water, climate regulation, biodiversity, and more. Forest health work comes in many forms. One example of this work is addressing the aftermath of wildfires to promote resilience for future fire events. Trihydro recently worked with the Mountain Counties Water Resources Association to secure grant funding to implement a large-scale fire fuels reduction analysis and strategic planning project. The project identified fuel removal methods and biomass management plans. Proactively reducing fuels supports forests in several ways, with a major benefit of reducing the intensity of future fires.
