I worked at Trustmark full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    good pay and credible company

    Cons

long work hours, no advancement opportunities, management shows favoritism

    Advice to Management

Management could use a little more professionalism. The lady over the contact center shows favoritism to the representatives. If you're not someone that works open to close or someone that she knows personally then she won't promote you.

I worked at Trustmark full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The pay is decent, but definitely not enough for the work required.

    Cons

Extreme micro management. Unfortunately they are no longer placing importance on customer service, only numbers. Favoritism is rampant and obvious. This area borders on extreme as far as employees being required to function like robots. Coworkers are discouraged from developing personal friendships with coworkers and personal conversation between employees is STRICTLY discouraged, although you're working in a cramped cubicle environment. You LITERALLY are timed for everything, including using the copier and fax machine as well as using the restroom. Management will come looking for you when you're away from your desk more than a few minutes. , even in the restroom. Management stays logged into your computer remotely, as well as listening in on every phone call. . If you spend more than a small time frame (say 5 minutes) on phone with customers, even when strictly discussing customer banking business, you are either instant messaged or tapped on the shoulder and told to wrap it up. There is no such thing as loyalty among coworkers, it is totally an environment where management plays employees against one another and continuously. Definitely no longer an institution that cares about its employees nor its customers, when at one time it was one of the best places I have ever worked. It is disheartening to see what has happened to this department. It has become somewhat of a hostile work environment where no one can be trusted.

    Advice to Management

Banking is not military. Also, please go back to respecting and appreciating your customers.

I have been working at Trustmark full-time

    Pros

Working hours are great. No pressure, low sale goal

    Cons

Stay away from the memphis area. It's a toxic environment from the top down. Trust me!!! Low pay! Lots and lots of turn over in the Memphis area.

    Advice to Management

Stop spreading employee business and promoting people who are close to upper management who do noting for the company.

    Pros

    Work-Life balance. Decent health benefits.

    Cons

Low salary and limited internal promotions. The company rather hire external candidates rather than promote from within.

    Pros

Great mobility. If you don't like your position, and you are working to acquire other skills, getting a different job within Trustmark is not hard.

    Cons

No parking provided, which can be huge, especially since is in downtown Jackson. The environment can be a little bit old-fashioned. Like it's better if you play golf and are part of the "club."

    Advice to Management

Hire people that are different; if you hire people that fit in with everyone, you will end up with people that think the same way, losing a lot of talent in the process.

    Pros

The most politically correct company I have ever worked for! The Houston mgt team are a bunch of "loons" The culture is the worst I have ever seen.

    Cons

They have people in positions that don't know what they are doing. The lady over consumer in Houston is clueless and has very little lending experience. I have never seen a company that has such a nasty culture and treats employees with such disrespect. I would stay clear of this company if you are in consumer, commercial, and in management . - there are far too many choices in Houston. The company has divested themselves of assets and is desperate.

    Advice to Management

none - they will not listen.
