I worked at Unify Square full-time

    Pros

Strong leadership, greatly values its employees and their inputs, and empower them. Hard-working, very smart and talented co-workers there. Flexible work culture, competitive pay, good benefits, free snacks and very good coffee, nice team events, new modern office and nice location - right in downtown of Bellevue.

    Cons

    None, can't think of any.

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the good work.

I worked at Unify Square full-time

    Pros

Nice, modern office in the heart of downtown Bellevue. Free parking, snacks, great medical benefits free to the employee and dependents.

    Cons

The benefits were not enough to keep me happy at Unify Square. If you want to grow your career, this is not the place. Leadership is stifling and you will have no voice or say over the trajectory of your role or responsibilities. Turnover is high - they are able to attract highly capable individuals, but they are not empowered to make their own decisions. The office environment is open and should be energetic and collaborative, but speaking out loud is highly discouraged -- the environment is depressing and draining. There is no process for recognition, no salary increases, and no track for career advancement.

    Advice to Management

Empower your employees - listen and trust that you've hired good people who can help grow the business if given the chance.

I worked at Unify Square full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Interesting and smart group of people
HQ is in a nice office building and you can enjoy free snacks and coffee all day long
Good benefits and pretty flexible work work schedule

    Cons

Extremely poor leadership that's not transparent with the rest of the organization. It translates into creating a company that has bad culture & values.
Smart individuals are not enabled to be successful yet leaderships sets very unattainable/unrealistic metrics which are impossible to be met given the resources provided to do your job.
If you are a woman, be prepared to be dismissed most of the time. This company does not respect women as it does men (and this is coming from a guy) which is very unfortunate.

    Advice to Management

Management needs to needs to be replaced in order for the company to succeed. Most of the people are very smart and willing to work hard to move the company forward but when you have a very controlling CEO there is not much the rest of the company can do.

    Pros

The people who work there are AMAZING. Really knowledgeable in their field and friendly.
    Benefits are excellent.
Unlimited free snacks and drinks in office. Excellent central location- right near BTC.
People who work there are eager to learn more and excel.

    Cons

There is a lack of communication and consensus in the leadership team.
Things are not always thought through before being rolled out.

    Advice to Management

Listen to the people around you, particularly when more than one individual is trying to give advice of the same nature. Don't be afraid to tackle problems head on, in full view. Your workforce will back you if you are transparent. Overall though, I enjoyed working there.

    Pros

Industry's best and brightest create the perfect potential for success. Great opportunities to work with others and learn.

    Cons

Technical leadership does not necessarily mean good business acumen. Misaligned business strategy is cyclical with failed go to market plans. Employee's should take caution and ask how often, how many layoffs, and how many people have had prior position. The most difficult part of the job will be convincing Sr. leaders to listen to a sound plan, decisions are made on the fly without consultation.

    Advice to Management

Balance decision making to reduce CEO control for sound business decisions and fix the pricing.

    No opinion of CEO

I worked at Unify Square as a contractor (More than a year)

    Pros

Small and (still) agile company, with a good level of flexibility.
Good combination of small and large customers/projects.
One of the few Microsoft Pro Tool Partners.
Professional yet friendly attitude from Europe/German leadership.

    Cons

Management tend to change things/processes a lot of times, so you get confused and spend a lot of times to get up to speed. This covers major items as well.
Company have global coverage but everything is managed from US.
Big dependency on operations team in India and this will continue to increase.
    Poor communication from US leadership

    Advice to Management

Give more responsibility and breathing space to people/management outside of Seattle.
Do not create directors when they are not allowed to give direction.

    Pros

Fantastic company to work for, highly knowledgeable colleagues, everyone is top of their game - no deadwood! Strong decisive leadership team and clear communication of company strategy plus investment in training wherever needed and without question.

The company values its employees and works hard to ensure that the work / life balance is maintained. There are excellent opportunities within the company and as a woman I particularly disagree with the previous review on how we are treated.

I am very proud of the work we do at Unify2 and hope to be here for many years to come.

    Cons

None - literally none I can think of.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the good work, the company spirit and the team events. It makes all the difference, especially to those working remotely.

I have been working at Unify Square (More than 3 years)

    Pros

There is a generalized extremely high level of competence in the people working at Unify^2.

Initiative is recognized, encouraged and rewarded.

When a business opportunity is identified, the company is able to take quick decisions and put its muscle behind these decisions. That gives employees fair chances to work on different things.

There is a great flexibility in work time and location (e.g. whenever is compatible with business needs you can work from home, no question asked) which allows for an excellent work-life balance.

    Cons

Part of the leadership team has the tendency to communicate only good news while the bad ones are let to be taken care of by rumors.

The link between the high level vision and single projects is in some cases a weak one.

    Advice to Management

In case of problems or difficulties a little more transparency could be useful.
