    Disapproves of CEO

I worked at Union Wireless full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Decent pay and health insurance.

    Cons

Difficult to sell a lousy product. Conservative management with cameras always on. They have nothing better to do than monitor EVERY call and watch with cameras. They think they are so great but they just aren't.

    Advice to Management

    Sell the company.

complete lack of leadership at the C-level. disengaged CEO and president. most of the family has not worked anywhere else. no business acumen. will not listen to staff on what's best. routinely allow for discriminatory practices.

    Advice to Management

listen to your staff-they have worked in the real world.

I worked at Union Wireless full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

None. The fourth generation is driving it to the bottom.

    Cons

Entitled family members that have no business running any company. Poor decisions over and over, spend money on traveling the globe for fun and games. Allow a director level person to thrive in spite of many harassment complaints filed with HR. By far the worst environment I have ever encountered.

    Advice to Management

Enjoy the ride to the bottom. Revenue will continue to decline at an alarming rate.

    Pros

The pay is good at Union but once you are in, raises are not as promised. The company does provide training on industry standards such as Cisco.

    Cons

Management is all related. The highest you will go is Director level, all positions above director are reserved for family. There are not many long term employees here. People tend to stay for less than around 8 years. The company is very "clicky" and management has many events that are outside of work hours, it hurts your career if you do not attend these events. There is not much room for advancement. I got one week of vacation for my first 2 years with the company. I was told my bonus would be 4% of my yearly pay and got .002%. I had to wait an extra six months for my first raise because management did not have time to do my review. The town is so small that there are no other jobs here. If you move here to work for Union then you are really not giving yourself an out if you do not like it. They also fire a lot of employees.

    Pros

Great pay! Friendly and very helpful coworkers!

    Cons

Cell phone company, which means sometimes it seems like you have to bs customers to help them out. Sometimes they are numbers driven.

    Advice to Management

Remember it's not all about the numbers and the $$$. Sometimes customers just want to know that their cell phone company isn't gouging them too. Understand that not all customers have a lot of money for extra stuff so give a little wiggle room for employees when they can't get people to buy extras.

    Pros

Leadership disengaged with the company so you can do what you want.

    Cons

Poor leadership. Company CEO rarely at the office, has no idea or even cares what is happening. The three Chief officers cannot get along with each other. But not really an issue when they travel outside the United States on the company dime (This is a local phone company, and wireless in Wyoming, dreadful coverage in Montana, Colorado, and Utah. Why would they pay for international travel? CTO is overseas more than in town. Also engaged in felonious activities making firearm silences on the company owned 3D printer and Lathe, deceptive reporting of the regulated business, falsified reporting of drive test data to gain federal funding. They allow harassment from Director level employees. Leadership talks about other family members. And being a family company, family members can get away with drug and alcohol abuse, yet other employees have to tow the line. Human Resources, is totally useless, have no authority, seems they are only interested in publishing the family history book.

    Advice to Management

    Resign, sell the company.

    No opinion of CEO

I worked at Union Wireless full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Lots of experience in many areas of customer service.
    Nice people in all departments.
Being local to the area you are familiar with where customers live.

    Cons

Not enough training and education on products.
Not a very tech savvy company.
Lots of network errors to troubleshoot, which involves relying heavily on other departments resulting in delays.

    Advice to Management

Employees should be able to work only in their strengths, too many aspects of the job requires too much training.

    Pros

I recently started working for Union Wireless and I love it! It is such a welcoming environment and everyone really cares about you. It's true what the ads say, your a name...not a just a number.

    Cons

None yet that I can think of.

    Advice to Management

Depends on the needs and if I really want that.
