I have been working at UnityPoint Health part-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

Great Supervisors Great Coworkers Ability to work extra shifts

    Cons

The pay is fairly average. This is my part-time job so I don't complain but I don't know how I'd survive off of $14/hr, especially doing this job. You are confronted by angry patients at times who don't understand the concept of having to wait in line. Some patients are online check-ins so when they come in after reserving a spot and are immediately seen while other are waiting, it creates tension. We are required to...

    Advice to Management

My supervisors are amazing, understanding, and flexible. I know they don't have much control over the pay.

I have been working at UnityPoint Health part-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

Loved the job itself, the patients are great and I loved being able to work with moms before and after delivery.

    Cons

Management is not focused on employee satisfaction. They are very unresponsive to issues or concerns. Majority of the shifts were understaffed.

I worked at UnityPoint Health full-time for more than a year

    Pros

There is nothing positive I can say about the experience of working at UnityPoint Corporate/“Shared Services” in the Office of Strategy Management.

    Cons

Leadership is abysmal. The Office of Strategy Management (formerly the Enterprise Project Management Office) quite literally has no idea as to what is going on or how to operate. Department leaders are intentionally deceptive to the detriment of employees and the turnover rate in this department is well in excess of industry standards. Most employees earn well over $100,000 and leave willingly within a year of hire....

I worked at UnityPoint Health full-time for more than 4 years

    Pros

Ability to trade shifts with coworkers. Pays well. Schedules decently far in advance.

    Cons

Parking is expensive or non existent. (Yet doctors who are making the big bucks get free parking and food). Insurance sucks. Management is not involved.
