    I worked at Upstream full-time

    Pros

International exposure and developing markets experience, new product lines coming up all the time. An energetic and young team of professionals. there is room to grow if you stick around long enough.

    Cons

Like any other company that is experiencing growth pains, there are times when work can be very stressful and hectic and tensions high. International market operations can and will always be very volatile and will affect target achievement from time to time.

    Advice to Management

You're working very hard and everyone can tell. keep it up.

    I worked at Upstream full-time

    Pros

Great exposure, growth potentials if you're willing to relocate after accounts, Good pay compared to market standards, flexibility with working hours if you're not in the main office.

    Cons

Unpredictable workload with periods of extreme stress and weekends working. Management transparency can be improved. Old technology when it comes to internal processes (still using excel for accounting), Market is volatile due to the international nature.

    Advice to Management

Overall good management with the usual politics from time to time. Listen to voices within and not just in the HQ.

I have been working at Upstream full-time

    Pros

People are warm and pro active in the daily activities

    Cons

The management seems to be lost some times, without check the full scenario of the market and not being prepared for the future.

    Advice to Management

Try to ask to every employee: What would you do if you are the Company CEO? In my opinion the management level doesn't have a good view "from inside to outside" and the employees feedback would be very valuable.

    Pros

Great HR department, nice initiatives, tremendous benefits to the point some employees were getting spoiled. Multicultural awareness, great offices, despite the distance.

    Cons

Some engineering departments suffered from poor work-life balance. People were occasionally laid off in a clumsy strategic fashion.

    Advice to Management

Invest in your talent and stop wasting money on demotivating perks such as huge screens over the hallways.

I worked at Upstream full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Technical expertise of colleagues is very high, people are professional, good working conditions and surroundings.

    Cons

Most of the managers are young or inexperienced & do not have adequate people skills or training to lead teams. There is no consideration for work/life balance. Performance evaluation is not taken seriously & is not linked to compensation. The compensation mechanism is a¨black box" & is not explained to employees beforehand in order to have a clear visibility of why someone is getting a raise or not &...

    Advice to Management

Train your managers on how to lead people. Don't just promote them without taking consideration of their people skills because they are doing a poor job at it & drive people away eventually. The company is no longer at baby steps stage, you need to realize that if you want to attract the best talents, you have to treat your people with respect.
