    Pros

Excellent sales team with great customer contacts and commercial customer knowledge

    Cons

Challenging executive management team with conflicted priorities

    Advice to Management

Drive Utilimaster as a fleet/commercial driven supplier rather than as a component of the Spartan group

I have been working at Utilimaster full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Fast paced environment. No skills required making it the perfect place to gain factory experience.

    Cons

60+ hour work weeks that are mandatory. Employees are tired. Safety not a priority.

    Advice to Management

Quality would improve if employees were allowed to rest. One day off per week is leading to poor quality and high turnover rate.

    Negative Outlook

I have been working at Utilimaster full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Reasonably good benefits. Good amount of paid holidays.

    Cons

Management is out of touch with working conditions. Hours are sometime long and not scheduled. Turnover rate is ridiculous Experience is not valued by company. Length of service means nothing.

    Advice to Management

Pay better to try to keep experienced workers and quit hiring non-value added management.

I have been working at Utilimaster as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

Utilimaster is a job not for the light hearted however if your able to stick through it you are treated with good benefits and a competitive pay. The work week depending on your shift can be short and the staff is very friendly.

    Cons

One of biggest problems Utilimaster has a company is the lack of communication and clear understanding of some of the basic rules that make a good in employer a great employer.
If you have any issues you can almost for certain know that it won't get handled in a professional manner. I wish not to dive to far into the negatives as there are several. Others include high turn over rate and not honoring contracts.

    Advice to Management

My word of advice is listen to your employees and try to reduce the turnover rate of the company.

I worked at Utilimaster full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Excellent coworkers, good hands on work, constantly pushed to work harder, good beginner job, it is definitely just a paycheck job.

    Cons

Bad management, no real bonus, no good wages, way to much old school politics, no advancement, employee turn-over rate extreme by the week, way to many temp employees.

    Advice to Management

Get a clue, treat employees better and your business will prosper, realize that your employees are your bottom line and you could at least try to respect them.
