This is an excellent opportunity if you are independent, resourceful and self-motivated. The office culture is great, and sharing personal passions is encouraged. It's not uncommon for employees to bring in a home brew or enjoy a jam session late on Friday afternoon if you don't have a deadline.
High design opportunities are often available.
If you require a lot of structure and direction, this is probably not the firm for you. Don't expect anyone to give you a set of redlines or ask you to mindlessly pump out a drawing set. Upper management is happy to help if you need support, but once you are assigned a project, it's really up to you and your team to complete your work, address complex technical problems, and manage your time including architectural production, communication with clients, consultants, city officials, etc.

The office has a steady work flow. Many employees are getting steady work
Unorganized work place. Not enough work at times. Too much turn around in staff.

Great work. Awesome people. Gives you the freedom, opportunity and support to be as ambitious as you want to be in your career.
Required to pull the occasional long day/days to make a deadline.

Independent, challenging environment filled with talented coworkers and a dedication to both high-design & a fantastic social environment.
Challenging projects bring late hours every so often.
proj mgmt experience
potential to work on high design projects
great work environment
not the pay of a giant firm
bread and butter work (in addition to design work)
the people are very personable and fun. the social aspects of the firm are very lively and strong. once/twice yearly parties and activities are always fun
this is not a place to work if you are looking for career advancement. there is a severe lack of organization amongst the leadership, causing things to fall through the cracks quite often. the managers, in general, are not good at managing people.
Advice to Management
invest in your employees in a way that makes them feel valuable. there needs to be attainable goals if you expect to have any sort of people retention for the longevity of this company's success.

Great energy and very personable group. Good projects and ability to make your experience your own. Flexible work life but requires full commitment to work. Great opportunities there for the taking if you're a squeaky wheel
Moderate benefits. Leadership is concerned about "not being corporate" and staying "boutique" in attitude to the detriment of employee support. Staff is tasked with a lot of what is sold as "power" and "decision making opps" but boils down to extra and unnecessary work due to lack of basic structure and support
Advice to Management
Spend the money to hire support people for employees. Spend the money for adequate benefits. Stop trying to multi task everyone
Good place, good people
Good office structure
Try really hard to not be considered corporate. Works against themselves.
Boss' son is an entitled arrogant dimwit whose laziness is the highlight of his career
Great work, really talented people
open office setting. Gets noisy sometimes
