    I worked at Vestmark full-time

    Pros

Friendly people, free snacks/drinks, laid back atmosphere but can be high pressure at times, no dress code. As an intern/co-op you will have the same duties as full time employees, you get the full experience here and have opportunity to contribute.

    Cons

Slow moving, not really quick to adapt new technologies, be wary of the IPO kool-aid

    Advice to Management

Continue to foster the inclusive and friendly work environment, work to advance the company by challenging employees. Invest in your employees and new technology. Hold back on the IPO kool-aid.

I have been working at Vestmark full-time

    Pros

Culture, culture, culture! Vestmark really values their employees. They offer competitive salaries, equity in the company, plenty of coffee, soda, and snacks, monthly company meetings where management shares any and all information. Vestmark is constantly looking for feedback from employees and they try to implement the feedback assuming it makes sense.

Plenty of celebration - Yearly kick off meetings, summer outings with the family, celebrations to support the local sports teams, sometimes there is no reasonfor the celebration, just because we can.

Explosive growth, company was 70 people 3 years ago and now is 300.

    Cons

The fintech space is difficult because the sales cycles can be long and there is a lot of competition.

    Advice to Management

Stay the course, keep managing expenses to keep margins high.

    I worked at Vestmark full-time

    Pros

    Snacks.

    People are nice.

    Cubes are decently sized.

    Cons

Ancient technology stack and custom frameworks developed many years ago. Things you learn here will mostly not be applicable outside.

Niche product that is probably going to go out of business due to high performing index ETFs and HFT.

Leadership team is cushy and not motivated to exit - stock options are a poor investment.

Salaries are below average. Benefits are expensive.

Hiring friends and family into higher level positions is a common occurrence.

    Advice to Management

Exit while the product still has customers so that employees can make something out of their options.

I have been working at Vestmark (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great leadership, market leading product. Benefits are good, culture is good. CEO is a visionary with ability to execute. Everyone owns stock.

    Cons

Product is great but very complex to learn and support. Benefits could be better. There are really very few cons to working at Vestmark

    Advice to Management

Share the vision and mission of the company with mare tactical detail.

I have been working at Vestmark full-time

    Pros

Solid business, growing fast, profitable, great revenue model, management deeply understands the FinServ space.

The work is interesting and the people great - if you're smart, you'll do well and have opportunities to advance. The business is growing at startup speed: head count has gone from 70-250 in three years.

None of the drama of some startups - Vestmark is building a stable business, not a high-flyer. No crystal ball here, but I expect the same after IPO: a company with strong growth and no gut-wrenching excursions in the stock price.

    Cons

Yep, it's been a long wait for IPO.

    Advice to Management

Provide better incentives for employees, year end bonuses would help.

I worked at Vestmark full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

They try to do some fun things to boost morale. Free snacks and soda.

    Cons

The pay is not competitive and the benefits not as good as in other places. Being a couple years away from an IPO for 10 years is discouraging. I do not recommend Vestmark for software engineers since the technologies and coding practices are circa 2001, which has created a bloated codebase that is tedious to maintain. Unfortunately you won't learn anything useful, or work with newer technologies, because there is just too much invested in their aging tech infrastructure. You will spend a lot of time learning their many home brewed frameworks that are unfortunately not documented.
