It is a job and you get paid every month

Appointments are rammed in with absolutely no regard for customer service. You are expected to work through your unpaid lunch break and never leave on your finishing time but do not expect to be paid for all the extra you do that’s at your own goodwill. All stores in the local area are short staffed putting everyone under pressure.

Interesting to learn about optics, even though I had no prior experience or knowledge in the area. I genuinely think they area good company for their customers and patients. One pair of free glasses per year up to value of £550

Very little training. Current staff are expected to teach you on the job and the rest you are meant to learn online but there's no time set aside for training to be done. Upper management constantly complain about sales levels but what do they expect with level of training? Had to do a mandatory course which points out the importance of chairs with lumbar support, yet they have us sitting on swivel stools with no back support at all. Most of the staff complain about pain in their backs and yet nothing is done Minimum wages for a lot of responsibility. Paid less than grocery store workers.No pay rise mentioned despite the living cost crisis.

The holiday allowance is amazing and the free glasses scheme that colleagues get every year is one of the best I’ve had

Awful management, misdirection from Head Office. Bullying tactics from management. No clear direction, new projects but never following anything through. Allowed to be treated awfully by customers, no policies in place to prevent this, they are always right. Underpaid for the work put in, no work life balance whatsoever expected to work all hours for minimum within the industry.
