Pros
Multilingual environment (english, french, german, italian). Clients geographically concentrated (Geneva, Zurich). High performance code, but at the expense of working at file level for many functions. Reporting from an SQL database using Java Banking and trading software always needs to be updated to meet regulatory requirements - Stable outlook with stable clients who are willing to pay
Cons
Development was in an older, little known development language, which required a considerable lead time to learn, which frustrated developers dealing with a lot of old code which was difficult to restructure.
