I have been working at Volvo Group full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    Great company with fantastic benefits.

    Cons

There is a lot of corporate politics due to the nature of so many international positions. It is a cut throat corporate environment. They say they are all about the employee but you feel like you don't have a voice and its sort of dog eat dog.

    Advice to Management

HR is sweeping most issues under the rug so upper management never finds out about any major issues. If the upper management really wants to find out about wrong doing, go to the corporate attorneys and ask them about employee related matters or which departments have "recurring" problems with managers, supervisors, etc. So basically you could weed out problem supervisors and managers that are not treating their employees well.

I have been working at Volvo Group full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The company health care and ETO (earned time off) benefits are phenomenal! The company believes in the quality of life for its employees and gives you opportunities to earn rewards (ex. gift cards) through free health screenings.

    Cons

You very well may have a slow beginning in terms of work assignments. Often times I would feel as though I was not contributing very much to my team, but it was there method of assisting with my cultural transition into the company.

    Advice to Management

Training of new employees could be a bit better. The company devotes a large amount of time in individuals learning "The Volvo Way" and often times you may feel as though you could be doing a lot more with assignments.

    Pros

Great people and benefits. Challenging work environment with great project opportunities. A very nice starting point for entry level Information technology individuals

    Cons

Minimal communication between departments. As an IT specialist, it was challenging to support cross functional applications that affected multiple departments. That required different browsers, java..etc..etc ..etc

    Advice to Management
