I worked at Wacker Neuson full-time

    Pros

Good work life balance that that has unfortunately been getting worse over time. The company builds really cool products, and there are a number of great people (both union and non) that still work there.

    Cons

Terrible management that only cares about not getting fired. The company has been on a kick in the past year or so hiring a number of “made up” positions that never used to exist, and that have no real responsibilities. This in turn has made more work for certain teams.

    Advice to Management

Work harder to retain the employees you have, especially the good ones. Listen to their input, especially when they are asking for help. Also, hire a more experienced logistics team and stop pushing it onto everyone else.

I worked at Wacker Neuson full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

When the weld and fab shop were still in house it was a good place to to begin for those just starting out in those fields.

    Cons

There’s a lack of coordination from management to the floor. Production supervisor likes to micromanage and has no background in welding or fab.

    Advice to Management

Start caring about your people and training. Stop standing on the floor and trying push the production numbers. If there’s no parts nothing can be made.

I worked at Wacker Neuson full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Great group of people at North American HQ, good products with excellent new skid steer line

    Cons

Battle between the two main shareholder families in Europe after the 2007 merger caused unneeded turmoil and distractions for the organization. Very successful North American organization has now lost most of its autonomy with European HQ now directing most significant decisions.

I worked at Wacker Neuson full-time for less than a year

    Pros

It has friendly workers. The office and production facility are modern and we'll kept. Manufacturing is modern. Steady production product.

    Cons

Since it is a smaller organization, this means there are pockets of experienced and inexperienced technical and management personnel. Training is uneven.
